I've been with someone for 7 years and I just recently discovered this is what I'm into and this is what I want. I'm a little and my partner is very dominant naturally. I just don't want him to think it is too much..

What type of natural Dominate?

It's of course not always equal, but you may be able to teach him, sway him, or however you want to phrase it.

 

I'd say communicate but gently. ... go as slow as needed, but you have to let him know in order to be truly happy if it's what you want/need.

 

Perhaps start with cuddles and eyelashes, not sippycups and pacifiers.

If he is naturally dominant this may be a fairly easy sell. Incorporate aspects of the what your partner already likes with what you are trying to achieve. They will get the picture pretty quickly and hopefully move in the direction you want.
