I enjoy a good anime, animated, Pixar movie as much as the next Daddy; however, I'm watching my all time favorite movie on BBC America tonight: The Princess Bride.

This got me thinking on other live action movies that might be age appropriate for our wards and got me remembering the shows I watched on the Disney Channel when it first came out and was a premium channel along with HBO and Cinimax.

A few that crossed my memory were:

    Heidi

Anything Haley Mills - had such a crush on her and then I found out she was in her 40s...I still had a crush :p

    Davey Crocket

    Herbie

    The Shaggy Dog

    The Nutty Professor (pre-Robin Williams)

    Swiss Family Robinson

The Sound of Music - sigh...another crush gone horribly awry.

I'll stop here and let you add to the list and fill in with your favorite live-action movies.

    Eloise at the Plaza!

tengo los lagos, tengo los ríos.
tengo mis dientes pa` cuando me sonrío
la nieve que maquilla mis montañas
tengo el sol que me seca y la lluvia que me baña

I loved the live action Cinderella!

I got strange looks when I bought my ticket to this one.  Didn't keep me from going but I remember feeling uncomfortable and changing my seat to one further back.  Anyone else have this experience?

Tangent - I peeked at your profile and we share a lot of interests between metal, gaming, and horror/The Walking Dead (I've always liked Maggie and enjoy how she's evolving since losing Glenn).  Would you care to talk more?

Matilda, the goonies, the neverending story, the parent trap, harry potter, Home Alone, jumanji, ...

There are tons of movies your little can enjoy. While technically not a pure live action, I've always like the Pagemaster for its take on how stories can help you grow up as a kid.
