Hi! New Daddy here :) (British, living in Disneyland Paris)

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and new to DDLG in general, excited to learn more and make friends.

I posted a long, detailed discussion about my past, my preferences, my journey and how I found DDLG, and my thoughts, hopes and concerns about it. I posted it under the main DDLG forum rather than introductions, as it covered so much ground, that felt a more appropriate place for it. I hope that's ok?

Welcome to the site, there's LOTS of valuable insight & opinions on the forum that might address some of your "thoughts, hopes & concerns". It's quite likely that whatever they are, someone else has shared them too!

You can do a search to find previous threads, and of course start any of your own when you want.

Looby  :)

p.s. Yayyyy for another Brit...but it's not fair you get to live near Disneyland!! (pouts)

ETA: OMG...do you actually live IN Disneyland?!?!

Many thanks fellow Brit! Yes I've been lurking and going through and reading, I find all this stuff fascinating. I never really knew these kind of thoughts were shared by other people before, I just thought I was somehow broken. So its great reading others sharing their feelings and experiences.

And yes, depending on your definition, I live IN Disneyland Paris. Not the park itself, but the resort (which consists of Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village, Villages Nature, Davy Crockett, Val d'Europe, The Vallee Village shopping mall, and of course all the hotels). I live in a beautiful apartment in Val d'Europe, near the Vallee Village shops and the Adagio Partner Hotel. It looks like a typical French town but its actually on land owned and built by Disney - essentially a whole new town built in 1992 to accommodate all the workers for the company, along with their families.

Its about a 10 minute walk, or 2 minute bus/train from the entrance to Disneyland Park. I have an Infinity pass so I can go in the parks every day, even if just to catch the "magic hours" before the public start filling up the queues, and watching the shows and fireworks at night before bed. I'm still not bored of it and absolutely love it, and of course there is a Eurostar station right there, so its very easy and quick for me to get to London any time I'm needed for a film, event, convention etc... and its also very near to Charles De Gaul airport so its easy for me to fly to LA or wherever when needed for work too. I'm very lucky! Disneyland has always been my favourite place in the world

That's so cool how close you live! I go to Disney world super often

Thanks! Aww I'm jealous, I love Disney World. I last went for Christmas 2017 and New Year 2018, literally stayed for nearly a whole month and it was amazing, best holiday ever. I keep thinking about one day going to Full Sail and doing a Masters Degree in Film, in Florida, really just as an excuse to have 9 months next to Disney  [edit] thinking about it, for your reference, the town that I live in is kind of like Celebration. Except, because Disneyland Paris is smaller (its closer to Anaheim size) everything is closer together. So I can literally walk from my apartment to the entrance of all the parks and facilities  :)

Thank you! Yes it's a great learning experience from me and I've made at least one very good friend who I feel like I've known forever :)

I'm glad you love Disney parks and characters! As you are a Brit I'd recommend trying to make it to Paris - its much cheaper and the queues for characters are MUCH shorter, and there are possibly more dedicated permanent "meet and greet" locations. Also, the running challenges they do are an amazing way to get as many pictures with characters as possible - I recently did at 36k and met over 25 characters in just 2 days

Sounds awesome! I’d be in my element if I worked there lol

I keep meaning to go but the only chance I get is during school holidays and it seems to be horrendously expensive then!

Oh I don’t run lol and if I am you better run to because something is chasing me lol

I've sent you a friend request.

Thanks :D  I've never been a character in the parks if that's what you mean, I've only acted in feature films. But yes, I've played speaking roles in Hollywood movies released by Disney or companies owned by them. But of course, I need to be very careful what I say about that so I can't be identified.

So your a superstar hehe

Haha, not quite "superstar". I said "speaking roles", not "lead roles". I've had lead roles, but only in cable/dvd/netflix movies that no-one's seen. My Hollywood career has been mostly just a handful of lines, but in some of the biggest franchises/movies of all time, which is incredible and a privilege of course. (really trying to be careful what I say so I can't be "narrowed down". But its hard. If we met randomly in town and were discussing this I'd be proudly showing you pictures and clips by now - as I know many initially think I'm lying or exaggerating  ) But yeah, this Superhero role that I'm training for - by the time that comes out I'll be the lead, and I'll be on billboards and the sides of buses and what have you. So potential superstar in the making  Lets see if people like the movie or not first

I bet people call bullshit on you all the time!

I’m very much a believer in people not gullible thou if you say that’s what’s happening I’ll believe you

I don’t watch many superhero films so I’d never know any way haha

Haha yes it happens quite a lot, especially on a night out if people are drinking and I'm with friends, and we meet a bunch of people, inevitably one of my friends will say "you know that he was is (insert big film here)", or "you know he's friends with (insert big celebrity actor/model/popstar here)" and the new people call bull, until one of them actually pulls out their phone and checks for me on IMDb, or finds my Twitter feed and sees who follow me etc. Its quite amusing! Because of course I'm not really famous enough for people to recognise me walking down the street. But once they find out, they start acting star struck, which is so funny as a minute earlier they had no idea who I was

Anyway, I just sent you a PM so feel free to ask me about Disney or anything else over there.  :D
