Am I Being Irrational?

So firstly, I know I'm a little but I have't regressed fully yet if that makes sense. I've had moments where I felt regressed or "baby" but I can't manage to fully submerge in it (I think it has to do with me still living at home).

Today was pretty bad. My sister got a bad haircut and due to certain circumstances I was feeling very upset for her (there's more to it but I won't get into that). My emotions are definitely on high today. I came home to see that my new coloring book and markers had been used while I was away and I had a fit and started sobbing. I don't have a lot of things that are just mine so having someone else use something personal of mine was the last straw. Is this normal for me to have made such a huge fuss about this? I feel like I acted childish but that was supposed to be something just for me, just for my enjoyment...

given that you don't have a lot of stuff that is just yours, your reaction is perfectly normal. I have had the same reaction when I had my 'BOB ROSS' paint brushes used and abused without even being asked to use them by a family member. And I was 40yo. Don't beat yourself up. Plus a lot of times we can not help how we feel when certain things come up. Just let those emotions take their course and move through you. I hope my words help

I think your response is super valid. It sounds like you really valued knowing that those things were yours alone and felt violated that they had been messed with. It might be worth figuring a way to keep them safe or having a frank discussion with the people you live with (family I'm assuming) that it's not acceptable behaviour to use other peoples things without consent (only if they are going to be open and receptive to this - if not go with the hiding idea).

I would have been super upset, too! Your feelings are totally valid. It's always important to respect the things of others and ask permission, or get your own. It really upsets me when people feel entitled and take advantage of things that belong to others.

It's a normal reaction. I love snacking but my parents always limit the amount of snacks I consume and can go to extreme extent. So if my sister or one of the guest's kid eat my snacks or chocolates I throw a fit and/or have a breakdown.
