Guest Posted October 14, 2022 Report Posted October 14, 2022 completely agree lean. its like with cruella or maleficient, yes they are characters from other disney movies but they are reinvented and the stories are really good. I understand the draw that making a cartoon into a live action could really make them better... but for many its just done so sloppily its sad.
beanbean Posted October 14, 2022 Report Posted October 14, 2022 lol no one seems to have new ideas anymore everything is a remake , we need new ideas
beanbean Posted October 17, 2022 Report Posted October 17, 2022 don't get me wrong nostalgia done right is great . i love Jurasic World and all the call backs ,i know a lot did not tho
PocketSand Posted October 19, 2022 Report Posted October 19, 2022 Well it makes sense that companies would capitalize on nostalgia. We're now adults with money so I don't blame them from trying to get us to buy a piece of our childhood. For me personally it's Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon. I'm actually trying to rebuild my collection. And it was tough but I managed to snag a few bags of the Halloween Pokemon packs. But I do agree a lot of the media, like remakes are definitely a little too pc or different. Like just recently they released the trailer for the new Mario movie. What I don't understand is why they decided to use Chris Pratt to voice Mario instead of the original VA that does his voice for all the games. Some say it's because Chris is a bigger name. Also because apparently the original voice is too stereotypical and over exaggerated. Just goes to show how stupid this pc culture is today.
Guest Posted October 20, 2022 Report Posted October 20, 2022 I seen the new trailer and just was sad. Like you both said, why add a "big name" actor when the original voice actor is what brings that character to life!?? its like saying "hey we just made a new pizza! its a whole new, reimagined pizza!" and then giving the crowd who showed up a bologna sandwich with tomato sauce on it wrapped in golden foil..... Like are we supposed to be happy that you wrapped it in the expensive golden foil that costs so much money to use? No I'd rather have the traditional pizza, that I loved growing up...
Guest Posted October 20, 2022 Report Posted October 20, 2022 Thank you! Thank you!! *bows dramatically*

I actually find it more offensive that they took away Mario’s Italian accent. Just make it natural, not a stereotype, and don’t make him American right away. I get annoyed when they think they need to attach a big name to a kids movie. Kids don’t care! And actual voice actors are so talented and are constantly tossed aside. As much as I love Lower Decks, most of the characters are voiced by actors. They’re great but when you compare their work to people like Maurice LaMarche or Tress MacNielle… well there is no comparison, lol. Sorry went off-topic a bit there, lol. Yeah and the thing is Chris Pratt just sounds like Chris Pratt he wasn't really trying to sound like Mario. Which made it a little weird since his voice doesn't really fit the character.
