Several members were approached, some off site, by someone going by the name Ally, aka Max, aka Jeff. He tried to convince them to let him send money to their bank account and then they should forward all or part to someone else.
That generally only ends one of two ways.
- You get scammed because as soon as you forward the money he retracts what he sent and you lose whatever you sent. That other account will be gone before you can take yours back.
- You are a participant in money laundering. And if caught that is a felony and they will have you in cuffs not him. And "But I thought I could trust him" will not save you from a felony.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYONE MONEY FOR ANY REASON !
I don't care if they live chat you from surgery while the doctor is cutting on them and telling you he needs to be paid before he will stitch them back up. If they need money they can get a job or start a gofundme. If gofundme approves them and you want to donate then that's your business but we will not condone any activity like this.
Someone wants cash for pics or videos ? Report and send screen shots, that is soliciting and I won't tolerate it.
Someone needs a refill on their phone ? Walmart is always hiring, get a job. Can't work ? Find another way.
Our community is not your piggy bank.
Also, do reverse image searches because the pic this guy used was reverse searched and came back someone totally different, that's when the member got suspicious.
