BabyPoppy Posted March 4, 2024 Report Posted March 4, 2024 Little Friends!!!! Guess what??? Yesterday was Dr. Seuss Day - it would have been his birthday. So my question for you is what is your favorite Dr. Seuss story? Why do you like that story best? I have several, but my absolute favorite is Yertle the Turtle. The story is about a turtle who elevates himself above all the other turtles by forcing them to stand in a stack he can sit on top of so he can rule over them. The best part is when the small turtle on the bottom topples the stack with a burp! "And all turtles and maybe all people are free" I like The Sneetches, also. It's about Sneetches who have stars on their tummies and who don't. They treat each other differently because of the star. A guy comes with a machine to put stars on and take them off to keep Sneetches separate, but in the end they spend all their money and decide it is better to just accept everyone. They party together on the beach! My favorite one to read aloud is Fox in Sox... the poor Knox just can't say anything the Fox tries, but the Fox never gives up....that is until Mr. Knox blows his top and shoves Mr. Fox in the bottle with the twiddle beetles! Anyone else like Dr. Seuss?
i_luv_Littl3wiggl3s_18 Posted March 4, 2024 Report Posted March 4, 2024 I completely didn't realize it was Dr.Seuss day! i loved his stories sm they always made me happy and the shows/movies too. Ive never read yertle the turtle but it sounds so good and cute. I remember loving the story of sneetches it showed to treat everyone with kindness despite the differences and that everyone was the same star or not. the fox in a sox sounds really cute too but i don't remember it, but reading everything makes me want to read it and every Dr.Seuss book ever though. I used to have my mom read dr.seuss to me all the time so much that my favorite: green eggs and ham pretty much was destroyed after about a year. it was about a man who's never tried green eggs and ham once so sam-I-am followed him all the way to the sea to try to get him to try it he loved them in the end. my other favorite was: one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. i loved how it shows all the people in town in a full rhyme starting from fish to a gack. the book also has part of my name in it somewhere so reading it made me super excited. 1
