So, we all *should* know by now how to stay safe on the internet, but given some recent scary SOPHISTICATED cyberattack events at work, I thought it time to post some online security tips. These are just general, obviously, but sometimes it’s just good to be reminded of them.

-do not share your password to online accounts with anyone
-I know we all struggle to remember them, but for the LOVE OF PETE, stop making them so easy to guess
-if you’ve thought of it in passing, the hackers have exhausted every combination of it
-you’re tech savvy? guess what, they’ve got you beat
-an unlocked computer in a public space is an opportunist’s dream
-free Wi-Fi? Should be called free access to all your info. VPN, MPN and/or personal hotspot are the way to go
-the spoofing from actual financial institution data we’ve seen lately has been incredibly sophisticated…it looks and sounds like your bank
-if you have utility service at your house (gas, water, electric, telephone, internet) VERIFY by calling your actual company’s phone number. They will ALWAYS have a record of attempted contact and if they do not, it was an attempt to gather personal data

more to follow, just wanted to get that out before delving into some of the deeper stuff
