PigtailPrincess Posted December 3, 2024 Report Posted December 3, 2024 Ready for some would you rather? I will post the questions and yall can pist your answers here. First one: Would you rather wait to buy the your favourite series/book in an edition that matches on your bookshelf or read the book in any edition because your desperate to read it? 1
Juju Posted December 3, 2024 Report Posted December 3, 2024 If I were desperate too read it, I'd probably just read the book. If I liked it enough to read again, then possibly get it to match. 2
PigtailPrincess Posted December 3, 2024 Author Report Posted December 3, 2024 Personally I just want to read it. Books look nice but I don't have a ton of space so I read on my Kindle which I also love. 3
BabyChaos Posted March 24 Report Posted March 24 I usually read on kindle but if I really like a book or series I will go out and buy the matching set. I have to be picky on what books I buy as I don’t have a lot of space to store my big people books as I have an extensive “kids” library. (I have 6 kids both male and female ranging from 22-8 lots of kids books) 2
little_forest Posted April 26 Report Posted April 26 I'd get in on my kindle first and read it. If I end up loving it, I'd get the physical set. Sometimes if a book is too pretty in the store I get it 🫢 2

SquirtleSquad Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 I personally always read books on kindle first. I just have so many books, I try to only buy books I know I’ll read over and over. If I’m being honest though I struggle to go in a book store and not buy at least ONE book 😆. 1

I agree with the one book thing. Even if I dont like reading real books anymore (I recently lost alot of strentlgth and mobility in my hands and I tend to read big books) the physical copy are still so stinking pretty 1

I definitely agree physical copies can be so pretty! Especially a full series that has changing colors in its books! (Harry Potter, Game of thrones, hunger games, Sarah j Maas court series. To name a few) My favorite series that I bought cause I thought is was beautiful has to be the Twisted Tales series! The first one is called As old as time by Liz Braswell. They were so hard for me to put down, even thought there’s several authors that contribute to the series. Which can be hard for me if the writing style changes. I didn’t notice too difference where it took away from the series. I would definitely recommend it if you haven’t read it! 1
strawberrytallcake Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 Hi all, so personally I kind of love disjointed series from different editions. I love buying things used and finding stuff out and about. I've gotten into a habit of reading long series through the library then buying the books as a I come across them in thrift stores. I did that for Throne of Glass, I still need to get the whole series. But in general if I need to read something I just have to get my hands on it in some way and I don't care how it happens hehe. 2 1
PigtailPrincess Posted May 17 Author Report Posted May 17 NEW QUESTION FOR YALL!!! You are at the end of ypur life. You hit 100 and have amazing memories and have 3 more days so you can read one more book. Would you rather read ypur favorite book one last time or a new one that is perfect for you genre and writing style wise? 1 1

If you are looking for a book or series you can't fine out and about check online. There are several sites that sell used books and you can get a whole series for relativly cheap. It's been over 5 years since I shopped them so I don't temember their name, but I'm sure a google search will bring them up. The books I've wanted to add to my mini library lately have all been kindle unlimited exclusive so I was only able to order them full price from amazon. {sad pouty face wirh crossed arms} 2

If I know I only have 3 more days I would rather reread my favorites one last time. Even if the genre and writing style are a perfect fit, it doesn't mean I'll enjoy the story and I'd rather not waste my limited time left reading something only to be disappointed at the end. If I reread my favorites I know I'll enjoy the last of my time and go out on a high note. 1

Even if I dont like reading real books anymore (I recently lost alot of strentlgth and mobility in my hands and I tend to read big books) the physical copy are still so stinking pretty I lost most of my mobility and strength in my upper right side nearly 25 years ago. After years of extensive PT I finally regained some back, which is better than where I was but still leaves much to be desired. I know the struggles and difficulties associated with this type of health complication so if you ever need a sympathetic ear or to just grouse about how damned difficult it is to button your pants (or other things), feel free to send me a message. FYI, I gave up on buttons of any type! They are not worth the trouble. Physical books are a whole different story. While I mosty read digital I can't resist having physical copies of my favorites, even if all I do is look at them sitting on my self. 1

I really love the questions you come up with @PigtailPrincess they are so clever! This is a particularly hard one fore me cause the thought of reading my last book makes me wanna cry 😭 I’d have to say I’d reread a favorite. I just wouldn’t wanna leave my last book to chance, ya know? 1 1
PigtailPrincess Posted May 20 Author Report Posted May 20 @Little Nyx I also read alot that may be harder to find in print or are jyst ridiculously exelspensive in print. Also I love that you want a tried and true loved book for the final days. I think as I get older repetition becomes more and more comforting. I think the ultimate would be to reread ypur favorite as if it's the first time. I am so sorry ypu also struggle with sone health problems But books are such a lovely escape and l9ok at them bringing us all together!!! @SquirtleSquad Awwww thank you!!! I try to do variety but I will admit i lean towards sappy and emotional. 1 1
PigtailPrincess Posted May 20 Author Report Posted May 20 Another question!!!! And this one is fun! You are the main character in an EPIC fantasy. The catch? You dont know if you are the protagonist or the antagonist. You will either save the day or start an era of darkness. A wise woman you once saved offers to tell you which you are or she can let you continue on your journey only to find out at the end with everyone else. Which would you rather and why? P.S. Extra points if ypu describe or attach a picture of what your wise woman looks like 1 1

I’ve learned from several knowing the future situations, that it usually doesn’t help you. I’m gonna trust in myself that I’ll do what’s right. My wise woman is gonna be a fairy godmother with fairy wings that looks like the Queen from the Disney fairies movie!! Her glowing gold dress is just so beautiful 😍 1 1

Extra points if ypu describe or attach a picture of what your wise woman looks like Oh, that's a tough one. Looking back on my life I can see where, if I had known the outcome, I could have made better decisions. But those better decisions would have changed othe outcome, which would have changed the knowing looking back. Does that make sense outside of my head??? Reminds me of a movie, I think it was called The Butterfly Effect. Anyways, I digress. Sheesh, this one is tough. Not knowing has appeal because you get to enjoy the surprise of everything happening at the time it happens. But I like spoilers, so I think I would want to know. I'm the 'read the last chapter of a book first' kind of person. Knowing how it all ends allows me to enjoy the story with less anxiety during the angsty parts. My wise woman is who I took my name after, the goddess Nyx. Wise and mysterious, shouded in darkness. Kind until the need to put others in their place arrises. Giving strength and encouragement to those who can hear her wispered wisdom. 1 1
PigtailPrincess Posted June 1 Author Report Posted June 1 Alright you know what time it is!!! A new Would you Rather Book Edition!!! Today's is pretty simple but has an extra bonus essay part. Would you rather read your romance novel from male or female perspective? No cheating and saying dual as we all love that 🤭 Bonus Essay: Why? 1 1

Plus i always see that there is a touch of madness or loss of stability in books when the character knows too much about the future. I think we know deep down as a species we cannot mentally handle that. Omg I love your fairy Godmother and gold is such and underused and amazing color. Personally mine is also ways a hobble old witchy looking lady who makes ALOT of potions in the basement forgets to warn me about which plants in the garden bite 🤣 1 1

In case anyone doesn't know tmwhat that is it is the idea that a butterfly flapping it's wings in Africa could lead to the collapse of the US economy. Essentially that a small event can cause a snowball effect. Hahah I love the honesty of "I just want to know" because honestly it is as simple as that. Ones curiosity often wins out. I personally have faith that you will get it right knowing all! Ahhhh you picked a shrouded woman. Love that too. We all picked very very different godmothers and I am here for it. I say we get them all in a room together. 1

Also honestly it’s refreshing since most romances are written in such similar thought process/ view point. It makes me think of the times I find the strong feminine heroine archetype, that’s a BAMF. Those are some of my favorites, but seem far more rare. 1
