Sailor Moon [Watch Parties] ??

Hey guys 👋

So, I've been wanting to watch Sailor Moon all the way through (in order) for awhile now. Including all the movies, and then Crystal. I'm wondering how many of you are interested in watching it with me. I would avoid scheduling conflicts with the regular movie night and it would probably be only once a month. I was thinking 1 episode or movie per watch party. The episodes are about 30 mins each. And I believe the movies are 1 to 1&1/2 hours long.

Whether you're new to the Sailor Moon series, a diehard Sailor Scout cosplayer, or somewhere magically in-between like I am, everyone is welcomed to join this. Previous knowledge of the series won't be necessary, as I'm starting from the very beginning. I'll be using the DIC dub to start with... due to deeply rooted nostalgia, if you're wondering.

Not only do I want to watch, but I'd like to hold a discussion after we're done. So we could hear each other's opinions on where the plot is going or other silly magical girl gossiping.

Just so you're aware;

My connection isn't always stable (country mobile network) and I'm chronically ill, so there will be nights that get missed, if I'm the only one running this.

I'd be willing to timing permitted, though id be curious which version youd be watching, im only familiar with the heavily censored version from the 90s, and the one where the cat was a terrible hand puppet

I'd start off with the DIC dub, which is the heavily censored one. I'm starting here out of pure nostalgia, but eventually, we'd go through everything I can find. 

Including, but not limited to extras like: live theatrical musicals, the cat puppet you mentioned, and maybe even cosplayers fooling around with movie maker on youtube.

DIC, Cloverway, undubbed DIC/Clove ending, Viz, undubbed original Japanese sub, and the Crystal reboot are all definitely going to be watched. Preferably in canon chronological order.

I'm also considering doing the same thing for Rugrats and Yu Yu Hakusho, but we'll see.

I watched Sailor Moon a couple of times in highschool. I thought it was cute. So I wouldn't mind watching it.

I've watched DIC a few times throughout my life, but haven't managed to get past it yet. I always get overwhelmed halfway through, as I've mostly watched it by myself. I have comprehension issues, so sometimes I get confused with what's going on. But watching it alone means nobody to ask for clarification on what's happening, or even just sharing some of the stronger emotional moments with.

I'm with you as we start this series, I have already watched a few episodes but I stopped, I am happy to complete it with you, it will be more fun, I need the name of the movie or the episodes of the series before it because I watch it in my mother tongue. 😊✨💜

Thank you, my language is Arabic, I already have the app so I just hope all the episodes and movies work, I mean I should know in advance what we will watch together on anime night so I have it in advance, thank you very much.

@samar_ I was guessing Arabic, but I don't like assuming. And good to know you already have an app. I'll be sure to tell you exactly what anime/episode we're on, each time we do something. And it's no problem at all~

I'm still not sure exactly when that will be just yet, but I'm scheming!
