MissAnna Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Hi everyone So yesterday was super tough and I'm really sad because of it Does anyone have any happy songs, ideas or things I can do to help me get my cheerful smile back? I don't want to be sad anymore any suggestions will be most appreciated and loved 💞 1
Guest hubblez_x Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I don't know how helpful this is but chocolate makes me happy. Be kind to yourself 🩷 sometimes exercise like a nice walk in the sunshine or if you find a happy song and really let loose dancing. Big hugs

LilJeanie Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I like to listen to "happy music." In the past, I have done this by seeding a pandora station with happy songs, but it's a lot of work. Here are some of my favorites: Walking on Sunshine by Katrine and the Waves Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper Happy by Pharrell Williams Get Lucky (specifically the Pentatonix version) HandClap by Fitz and the Tantrums Walking Man by Fitz and the Tantrums 3

SweetLittleDreamer Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Take comfort in those who see, love & admire how brightly you shine. Whether it’s having a silly moment with them or talking through the thing that’s got you down. I love listening to Morning townride by the seekers, it reminds of my grandmother, and used to spin me around her kitchen and sing it to me all the time, she would also sing it to me if I was having trouble sleeping.. but I don’t know that song would have the same effect for you…. But I also like a song called Don’t Worry Be Happy by Guy Sebastian (😍) it’s got such a up beat tune you can’t help but dance… or I’ll listen to 1940’s Jazz with a rain overlay. playing games with people also helps me… as long as they are nice people… or colouring… watching YouTube videos… long showers… screaming into the abyss… screaming in long showers…. screaming into a pillow (..I may have a problem here)…. talking to my big sissy always helps to & so do magic bunny hugs. 1

MissNMTX Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Everyone has already said it, but. Comfort foods, sweet treats, exercise definitely helps especially if it's in a pretty spot, music, Maybe since this hit you hard, journal it out. Just to get it out of your head 1
.คℓ𝐞メเᏰααα .ᐟ Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 (edited) When I'm feeling this kind of way, I like to listen to BabyMetal - Karate. The music video is kind of self explanatory to translating what the song is about, but it's about personal growth and self empowerment despite tears or being sad. To use that sadness in a positive manner, to learn from it. If you don't already know, Karate isn't just martial arts. It's mostly defensive movement in close combat, but with heavy leaning towards self awareness, control, and embracing our flaws to focus on self improvements. And in BabyMetal's Karate specifically - self defense against one's inner self. Spoiler If you end up liking BabyMetal, all of their songs have uplifting lyrics. If you like Metal and want other uplifting bands, I'd check out Opal In Sky. If you're feeling more adventurous after that; Electric Callboy is pure party metal with super fun lyrics. They aren't always uplifting necessarily, but they are typically a very silly metal band. Otherwise, I listen to a lot of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu on a regular basis, because all of her music is pure kawaii happiness. I can't not smile after listening to her music. Spoiler I'm suggesting music instead of journaling, because journaling has never helped me though music has. Also, if you're not already getting professional help, definitely get a therapist or counselor of some kind. Talking it out in 1x1s has always helped me get through harder times. And there's no shame in reaching for professional support. Edited June 25 by .คℓ𝐞メเᏰααα .ᐟ 1
BabyPoppy Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I practice "flip-it" do the opposite emotion of what I'm feeling. So, if I'm feeling sad, I watch a silly movie or a happy movie to laugh. I may read some funny jokes or do something I know makes me happy. Here's a list of movies that help me. - Trolls - Minions - Happy Feet - Cars - AFV- America's Funniest Videos 1

And there's no shame in reaching for professional support. Its because a girl at work doesn't like me and now work has deemed me to nice, to kind, to helpful and to bubbly. And they told me I needed to learn to talk less So all day today I didn't speak unless I was needed. It made me feel like being back in my childhood trauma. But it's okay because I have plenty of degrees under my belt and I am going to find a better job. The doctors I am working with our extremely upset with management for the way they are treating me. but you can't make everyone like you They have been treating me poorly since I have been diagnosed with MS I believe they are trying to get me to quit
