BabyPoppy Posted July 19 Report Posted July 19 I love having fun ways to be active and since I also love being little, I use cute songs and rhymes to do my Yoga... here's a few! I'll add more as I think of them! Humpty Dumpty Sit criss cross on the floor, back straight hands on your knees. Have enough space to lay down on your back with your legs stretched out in front of you. Start swaying left to right gently. Take several slow deep breaths. Sing very slowly while rocking left to right in rhythm to your singing... 🎵Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall🎵 Take 3 deep breaths, in through your nose, out slowly through your mouth Sing very slowly while rocking left to right in rhythm to your singing... 🎵 Humpty Dumpty had a great fall🎵 As you sing fall, slowly tip over backwards and stretch out flat on your back with your legs straight. Place your hands on your tummy and take 3 deep breaths, in through your nose, out slowly through your mouth Sing very slowly while lifting one knee to the opposite elbow and switching slowly. 🎵All the kings horses🎵 one knee/elbow touch 🎵 and all the Kings men🎵 second knee/elbow touch 🎵couldn't put Humpty🎵 third knee/elbow touch 🎵 together again🎵 fourth knee/elbow touch Stretch out flat, place your hands on your tummy and take 3 deep breaths, in through your nose, out slowly through your mouth. Slowly return to your original seated position, criss cross legs, hands on knees, tall, straight back, 3 more deep breaths. 1
BabyPoppy Posted July 19 Author Report Posted July 19 Here's a fun one I act out with my students, but sometimes I "practice" at home just coz it's fun! Little Miss Muffet Little Miss Muffet who sat on that tuffet (a small stool)... eating her curds and whey (a bowl and spoon)... along comes a spider (giant beanie one)... who sat beside her (I drop the spider next to me on the floor)... And frightened Miss Muffet away! (I jump up and scream "Ahhhh" dropping the bowl and spoon and run across the room!)
BabyPoppy Posted July 19 Author Report Posted July 19 I'll post several versions of Row, Row, Row your Boat tomorrow... I gotta sleep
Andriel_Isilien Posted July 19 Report Posted July 19 I never thought of incorporating rhymes into Yoga poses like that. 💖 Brilliant! 😊 1
BabyPoppy Posted July 19 Author Report Posted July 19 I have sooo many more, but my computer needs to charge and I use one finger to text on my phone coz my hands have arthritis, abd everywhere else too... Motion is lotion so the more I move my joints in healthy ways like yoga, the better I feel and rhymes make yoga much more fun! 1
