DaddysMonkey Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 Quite literally … go take a hike 🐒💨 LOL Being outdoors and hiking makes me feel like a kid , I get to explore and see so many things and animals. It’s one of my favorite things do to - just outdoor activities in general. Hiking in particular though just feels really…. Cool ! 😎 Like I’m an old school adventurer or pirate ! Or some sort of jungle woman looking for her monkey family ! My imagination is so free outside so I thought I would share my hike today. What are your favorite places to hike in your state or near where you live ? Does it make you feel like a kid ? Favorite hiking memories or photos to share ? Mine is the Mashell waterfalls. There’s three total on the hike but I normally only go to the middle and lower one if I’m alone cause they’re less dangerous. I go to these waterfalls quite often when I have time and I’ve seen so many things on the way up and back ! I tracked how long it took to get to the middle waterfalls from my house. Little over an hour , and I took some Labubu photos at the middle falls :3 I even saw a frog on the way to the middle falls ! After I was done at the middle falls I hiked back up , then back down lol , and went to the lower waterfall. It’s equally as gorgeous but much more sketchy to get down. There’s a rickety ass staircase that is steep and super high up , it’s falling apart 😂 So I have the bright idea of “I’m gunna record this to show everyone how sketchy this is !” So here’s the lower falls and the sketchy stairs. Mind you they’re super wet , muddy and slick lol All in all this is how long it took me to go to each waterfall and back home ;3 What a good workout and adventure ! 1 2
Itty_Bitty_Kitten Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 Wow, your distance is awesome, and I love your hiking buddy! I don't hike much in my area - Louisiana doesn't really work for me in terms of looking to get out, especially in the summer months (which sometimes feels like happens 11 months out of the year). But some of my favorite hiking places outside of my area has been Mount Olympic National Park and Acadia National Park. 🙂
Guest Littlest-Ryan Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 That's awesome! Any holy moly those really are steep stairs! Nice and slow there!! I've started going on walks every day to be more active, so I should totally include some hikes into that. It's a good idea! So many cool and fun and pretty things to find and see in nature My favourite hiking memory is when my mom would take all of us kids and our friends hiking to the waterfalls near our home! It was always fun to go swimming in the stream and seeing the water come crashing down. We used to bike up there quite often too now that I think about it. I should ask which falls those were and go see them again...
