Yearning for Her - Question Answers - SPOILERS

I’m not that good at writing, but here we go

Question 1:

Spoiler

I would’ve probably had a reaction a lot sooner than Willow. I dunno when though. Obviously Eli is the jerk in this situation. Could she have picked up on the red flags sooner and have dumped him years prior, yes. But that doesn’t make Eli any less the cause of the disaster.

Question 2:

Spoiler

I really and truly believe Eli will come back with some sort of evil vengeance towards Willow. Maybe this starts a series of unfortunate events for him and he blames her for it?

Question 3:

Spoiler

If a rebound relationship works out, then it’s going to be the same way any other relationship works out. With things like communication, respect, and compromise present, a relationship can have a good footing and can withstand setbacks and fights and stuff. I think even a rebound relationship can have that too.

Question 4:

Spoiler

I think her confidence came partially from the thrill of the moment and the way Kian was treating her. I think Kian was boosted up by her confidence too. He was able to know what she wanted because she was willing to do what she wanted. I least that’s what I got from it. To an extent I think that you get an equivalent to what you put out into the world. But being with the right people to hype you up goes a long way too

Question 1:

Spoiler

The part I would’ve had a reaction at is when willow told Eli that she told him about the restaurant and he brushed her off and then basically gaslit willow by saying the “coworker” was the first person her heard it from. I don’t think willow has responsibility in the Eli/Marissa disaster, maybe some thoughts about staying too long and not seeing the problems as what they were.

Question 2:

Spoiler

I do not think we have seen the last of Eli, he seems too self absorbed and he just lost both of his “girlfriends” who both told him he was in the wrong. I don’t think he will take that well. I think willow is going to want to go dancing at that club with Kian and that is where a confrontation with Eli will happen(while he’s there with another girl)

Question 3:

Spoiler

I think it really depends on the person who needs the “rebound”, like each individual is different on how they feel their feelings and how attached they get to sexual partners.. personally, I would be horrible at “rebounding” I would get attached too quickly to what should be a “one night stand”

Question 4:

Spoiler

I think a lot of what willow is doing with Kian and comparing is a result of how she was treated, like Eli being awful could put Kian on a pedestal off the bat from just being kind after her extremely low emotions. However, I do think she gets more confident in spite of what Eli says about her, not because she will continually be confident, I do think that will take some time for her to build up. I do think people can blossom with others more than they could with another based on how they treat and feel about them. Eli wasn’t pouring into Willow which made her wilt, but I do think with how Kian will potentially treat her she’ll grow more than she thought she would!

Question 1:

Spoiler

I would have had something to say over the nickname and certainly had something to say about him "forgetting" about the restaurant conversation. I also would have have many more questions about the 3 glasses waiting at the table.

Willow just wanted to be loved, and Eli spent 3 years grooming her to not trust herself when she questioned the way she was being treated. That isn't her fault.

Question 2:

Spoiler

Abusers don't like to loose their toys, so I doubt we have seen the last of him.

Question 3:

Spoiler

I think it comes down to respect and communication.

Question 4:

Spoiler

Eli didn't want her brave confidence. He wanted her silent obedience. He wanted her to give, and give and give cause all he wanted to do was take. If he wanted her confidence he would have treated her in a way that would have encouraged it.

Question 1: Only a few pages in and think we all know Eli is a GIANT tool. My question is two fold. First off at what point in this night would you personally have had a reaction and what would it be? Second any thoughts on whether Willow has any responsibility in this disaster? A- I would have a reaction when he called me Wil lol. The only thing that she was responsible for was being with the jerk.

Question 2: OK so a purely speculation question. Do you think we have seen the last of King Douche Eli? If you think not extra points for your guess as to how he will show back up. A-He’ll probably show up begging to come back.

Question 3: We know the stereotypes of the "rebound relationship" and its pitfalls. However sometimes, even IRL, the rebound relationship becomes forever true love. What do you think are the differences that make those ones successful over others? A- I think there's a vulnerability when you break up with someone at first and that leads you to be more award of who you want and try harder to keep in them in your life.

Question 4: Here we see Kian treating Willow WILDLY different from the way Eli has. It seems as a result she is giving the brave confidence to him that Eli wanted. Thoughts? How often do we not get what we want because of how WE act? Can changing the way you treat someone really change that much? A- I think this reminds me of when I was married I felt oppressed and unable to do things. When I divorced I felt more free and happy to be myself. Because I had nobody putting me down or making me feel bad.

Question 1: Only a few pages in and think we all know Eli is a GIANT tool. My question is two fold. First off at what point in this night would you personally have had a reaction and what would it be? Second any thoughts on whether Willow has any responsibility in this disaster?

~I would have left before the other woman did, I wouldn’t have stayed for him to use polyamory as an excuse for cheating. As a poly person this stigma gets me every time. People look at polyamory from the outside assuming that because there’s more than one partner, that this means there’s no boundaries. When in fact most successful poly relationships are built on respecting boundaries and the honest communication that strengthens trust between all parties involved. In my opinion, Willow isn’t responsible in the slightest. Her partner thinking it’s ok to open their relationship without discussing it, or the boundaries that are being crossed is wrong.

Question 2: OK so a purely speculation question. Do you think we have seen the last of King Douche Eli? If you think not extra points for your guess as to how he will show back up.

~It seems unlikely we’ve seen the last of him. I imagine he will come back. If only just to create another opportunity for Kian to step in, and show how willow should have been treated.

Question 3: We know the stereotypes of the "rebound relationship" and its pitfalls. However sometimes, even IRL, the rebound relationship becomes forever true love. What do you think are the differences that make those ones successful over others?

~I imagine they are successful because of the reasons any other regular relationship is. There’s a lot that goes into a relationship being a ‘success’. In my opinion that’s all parties wanting what’s best for one another, uplifting each other, as well as creating a safe space that allows everyone to growth together.

Question 4: Here we see Kian treating Willow WILDLY different from the way Eli has. It seems as a result she is giving the brave confidence to him that Eli wanted. Thoughts? How often do we not get what we want because of how WE act? Can changing the way you treat someone really change that much?

~The right person brings out the best in their partner. Eli never would have led to her being confident because he treated her as less, so she felt that way. How we treat people is everything.

Here are my answers! 🙂

These are amazingly thoughtful answers!

Spoiler

Love your point in the final question. 5hat it doesnt matter how amazing a person is, to properly bring that put they have to be treated to a certain standard of love and respect.

Question 2

Spoiler

I don't think this is the last we'll see of Eli tbh. It never is in these kinds of stories. It seems like at some point they always come crawling back towards the point where the FML is starting to feel confident in her new relationship just to screw everything up and cause tension and stress.

Question 4

Spoiler

I feel like how you treat and present yourself to others, especially your partner has a massive impact on how your relationship develops and plays out. It ultimately depends on the individual people involved. An example of how you present yourself effecting others is if you're kimd towards people, they're not only more likely to enjoy your presence, but in some cases it's how you end up being given small gifts or freebies as a sign of appreciation.

Sorry these took so long, hectic this week.

Here are my questions 5-8

Spoiler

Question 5: In this chapter Willow talks about loving the idea of someone rather than the person themselves. Do you think this is a common problem? If so how can she avoid this in the future do you think?

~I would say this is a common problem. The best way to avoid it would be to learn to love  oneself. Also not settling for less than one deserves. That’s really hard to do though, cause love makes people willing to look past things.

Question 6: Kian talks about his experience with Willow being one of a kind, that in his 400 some years he has never had this feeling. Do you think this is an emotional thing or some kind of physical genetics one? Do you think this is a once in a lifetime thing or is it just that he hasn't found one of a few over the years?

I think it’s more emotional than physical. It may be a lot nice in the lifetime thing, or just really rare.

Question 7: The difference in lifespan between Willow and Kian are being made clear here. What are your guesses on how this will affect their future and any possible solutions?

~I’m gonna guess once he accepted the bond between them, he will start aging with her.

Question 8: Willow makes a big deal of the fact she cant pursue Kian because she is so recently out of a long term thing. Thoughts? Is the waiting period important or is it a self imposed societal standard? Also do you think people can be 100% soul mates but miss their time window so to speak? Or is a soul mate a soul mate?

~I don’t think there is any time limit, some people need more time than others before they feel ready again. Soul mates are gonna happen no matter what. If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be.
