Phoenix78 Posted Monday at 03:24 AM Report Posted Monday at 03:24 AM I just want to know if its normal to have a food that makes you either physically ill (not allergic) or have a panic attack just from smell or sight alone? Is it weird? For me its tater tots, smell and taste and sometimes just seeing them is bad. We have found some alternative for when everyone else wants them but I still cant eat anything like them without smothering them in spices or a sauce.

DaDinosaur Posted Monday at 10:00 AM Report Posted Monday at 10:00 AM even us bigs have foods we link to trauma, I spent 3 months in a burns unit at a childrens hospital when I was 10, it was a terrible experience and at times still haunts me, but every meal they served gree beans that were boiled to mash, I couldnt eat them for many years and would gag at the thought, until a friend used fresh beans in a salad and I discovered that I liked fresh beans, even to a point where I can have them steamed and enjoy them. Cheers
MissNMTX Posted Monday at 04:17 PM Report Posted Monday at 04:17 PM When I was a kid my sister and I had a Disney villain step monster in our lives for about a year. We had a traumatic food experience with brussel sprouts. Now that we're grown we both love brussel sprouts. Everyone we eat them together (at the holidays or something) we give each other a high five for overcoming childhood trauma!
ArthurMitchell Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago It’s interesting how certain foods can trigger stress or even bring back difficult memories. For me, it’s less about the food itself and more about the environment or moment tied to it. Having a comfortable, positive dining experience can make all the difference places like olerys meny show how atmosphere and good food together can reshape those associations in a healthier way.
