MissNMTX Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 Okay, I watched another expat video yesterday. So, y'all know I have more questions for my British friends. Biscuits!!! 1. What's your favorite biscuit? 2. Do you dunk your biscuits? 3. What's the best biscuit for dunking? (Chocolate Hobnobs won in what I saw.) 4. Is dunking in your tea considered bad form? Thanks a million! Cheers!! 3
-Soul- Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 That entirely depends my mood however:- 1. usually a “Gold Bar” however this may also be classed as a chocolate bar 2. yes I do 3. a chocolate Digestive though you can’t dunk long or it falls apart 4. no but it has to be “British” tea made by putting tea bag in mug sugar optional, add boiling water, let steep for approximately 3 minutes, longer if you want stronger then add a dash of milk (not creamer) hope this helps (though this is from the view of a Scotsman that considers himself Scottish not “British” (I may upset a few with that comment)) 2 1
MissNMTX Posted October 1 Author Report Posted October 1 @-Soul- I do love hearing everyone's opinions on such things. 1 1
-Soul- Posted October 2 Report Posted October 2 @MissNMTX I’ll happily weigh in on “British Culture” or better yet Scottish 🤭 2
MissNMTX Posted October 2 Author Report Posted October 2 (edited) @-Soul- I love Scotland! My sister and I are planning a trip to Edinburgh in the future. Our ancestral family seat is right outside ( it got turned into what looks like a very fancy hotel) we are planning on having high tea there. She went to Scotland and Ireland about 2 years ago now (wasted on the wrong sister if you ask me) so we have our chest and our tartan. She got me a wonderful wool blanket for Christmas. It's gorgeous and soo warm...a bit warm for here actually but so cozy....I love it! My plan is to buy a scarf when I go so I can wear the crest on it.( It's a unicorn 🦄.... like I was destined to be a middle.) I vote when @MissAnna is well and healthy again she treats herself to a trip to Scotland.♥️🏴 Edited October 2 by MissNMTX 2

What's your favorite biscuit? All Butter Shortbread 2. Do you dunk your biscuits? Absolutely, a good biscuit also helps you drink your tea (characterised by the level of the tea going down in the mug as it soaks up the tea). 3. What's the best biscuit for dunking? (Chocolate Hobnobs won in what I saw.) Well, because I'm trying to eat more healthily (now I'm getting old and decrepit), I'm restricting the biscuits I buy and have been having Belvita Duo yoghurt and strawberry only. They are really good for dunking. 4. Is dunking in your tea considered bad form? Only if you're posh and drink the foul variety that is Earl Grey or some Twinings variety. Real people dunk. I was still thinking about a little "British care package" for you, but wasn't sure if you were serious or not. Bye the way, there is a "Brit Space" group in the forum. We'd love discussions like this to get the group more active and people weighing in on discussions. I set it up a little while ago, after a poll and people saying they wanted it, but they seem a little bit too shy and reserved there. You're most welcome to join and post there. MissNMTX Posted October 2 Author Report Posted October 2 @NR_Daddy Thank you for your input...I was waiting. Ha! I love Earl Grey, but only for drinking tea "out".. we have Bevita, but I don't think these varieties. I do like the ones I've tried. I am relived to know dunking is acceptable! It would be hard to restrain myself. I do know about the club. I think I commented when it was created. Used to be practically everyone here was from somewhere in the Isles. I was under the impression you had to be British to participate. I do have a sausage roll question.

Work is just non-stop and I'm old and get tired doing physical work. I spent an entire day today cleaning and putting a paint sealant on a car today. The customer allows their kids to eat in the car, so it was a mess. It took 5 hours to clean the interior (7 seat Land Rover Discovery), then it was wash, paintwork decontamination and finally a paint sealant. Anyway, enough about my excuses. Oh it's for anglophiles too, so get yourself in there!
MissNMTX Posted October 2 Author Report Posted October 2 @NR_DaddyI do enjoy having drinks in the car. Something about car rides need drinks, but a 7 seat Land Rover seems to nice for crumbs!

Butttt ..... sticky sweets and chocolate is not great, especially when they get dropped and left. 1
MissNMTX Posted October 2 Author Report Posted October 2 (edited) @NR_Daddy wasted chocolate just makes me sad, ♥️🍫 Edit! I would love a British care package... sincerely. Edited October 2 by MissNMTX
