NickyMoon Posted December 18, 2025 Report Posted December 18, 2025 Spoiler Question 17: So we learn that the boyfriend of the girl who disappeared splashed acid on Doctor Death and after the incident he only got expelled. Do you find this strange? Any ideas why legal action wasn't taken? Is the story behind the scarring not accurate possibly? I think this is a classic example of rumors warping in retelling. Maybe some of the details are correct but I'm sure the general public has no idea how things actually happened. Question 18: Here we learn that, before it kills, the parasite has some positive affects. From everything we know so far any guesses on how this parasite could be used by society? For good or for bad. I think if they could figure out a way to remove the parasite safely, it could be used to cure addictions, cancer, etc. But I'm sure like most things, it could be warped to be used for things like torture. Question 19: So when it comes to Barletta, Dr Deaths prisoner, does anything So far surprise you about him? Either before or after the parasite. I think the only thing that surprised me about him is how unpanicked he seems to be locked in a cell and experimented on. Question 20: This one is for fun. Find a picture (real, AI, artwork any will do) of our black moth friend. If you are an artist feel free to craft your own. https://share.google/mOIpWtXgFOPyojZoY Question 21: What do you think is the point in discussing somewhat top secret parasite information with students at the university? Why the NDA? What is your guess on what's so important that they must keep it so secret? I think that they are telling the students so that they can have more people to help with research and (possibly) testing. They have to sign the NDA because the secret society doesn't want the world to know about the parasite for some reason. I am guessing that they want to keep it secret so that they can control it. 1
MissNMTX Posted December 18, 2025 Report Posted December 18, 2025 Spoiler Question 17: I think this is a very insular and powerful place. We all know that power and influence changes this. I think this is simply that in fictional form. Didn't surprise me one bit. Question 18: It seems from the discussion. That the parasite in the early stages could be useful for detox purposes. Of course for it to be effective, you'd have to be able to remove it at that beneficial stage before it flips and advances Question 19: This feels like a case study in addiction. A sad case study. Once he's sober and clear headed and starting to feel healthier, he's then so resigned and in shame, he seems to not concerned about being imprisoned and on the path to dying....so sad, really. Question 20: Oh noes! I'm not that creative, I do have a idea in my head though. Question 21: My guess is the students are potentially used as research subjects, hence the NDA. It also seems some of the students are the children of the power brokers seeming to keep certain families in the loop of all the universities secrets. Potentially, the next generation of the Rooks 2
DaddysCosmicBunny Posted December 19, 2025 Report Posted December 19, 2025 (edited) Question 17: Spoiler I suspect no legal action was taken by the acid attack cuz the school very likely didn’t want bad press for school. The incident with the woman who attacked the professor in his home would be allowed to make the press because it looks like some crazed rando with no known connections to the school (at least publicaly). The acid attack, on the other hand, would def draw attention cuz it involved a student/teacher relationship which most (if not all) schools frown upon. I feel the incident was too scandalous and would def make the school look bad. I personally found it as very juicy gossip, though. 🤭 Question 18: Spoiler I would think that if the parasite’s effects can be harvested then they could/should be used to help cure illnesses. If in the right hands, it could be used to help “rejuvenate” people. In the wrong hands, it could be used as a bio-weapon with the negative effects. I’d hope the uses would be for good rather than evil, though. Question 19: Spoiler I was a bit surprised at how he could drink the bottle of liquor given to him from his captor. I understand he’s an alcoholic, but if I’m being kept in a cage, I would not trust anything my captor gives me. He was clearly at rock bottom which is why Devryk took him. I did feel bad for him when he started to experience the positive effects of the parasites. It was like seeing who he could have been if he chose to get sober and turn his life around. Question 20: Spoiler Spoiler Ai created, but they’re really pretty.💖 I did use a simple prompt of “black moth” and “pitch-black moth”. The fully back one is my fave, but the light shining through the first ones wings to give it a blue hue is really pretty. Question 21: Spoiler I found the need for an NDA was strange. I suspect it’s to gain intellect from the students about the parasites. If one of the students has/provides a breakthrough from the parasite, the school would want to keep it to themselves. We’ve already witnessed them kill a man for trying to sell some of their research, so who knows what’s in the NDA? Probably nothing pretty 😬 Edited December 21, 2025 by DaddysCosmicBunny 2
PigtailPrincess Posted Saturday at 01:13 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 01:13 PM On 12/11/2025 at 8:59 PM, DaddysCosmicBunny said: Question 9: Hide contents From what I got, this secret society are no nonsense kind of elites. That old, old money kind of vibe. They probably have “eyes and ears” everywhere. He very likely wasn’t as sneaky as he thought he was. I can only assume the research stolen was extremely valuable for death to even be an option. I don’t know if I can say it’s justified, but to them, it definitely is. Question 10: Hide contents I was a little surprised. It felt like a power move to keep everyone in line. A part of me wants to believe they are using their resources for good (finding cures for fatal illnesses), which is why the offense of stealing the research was his life. The man would be profiting from work that could save countless lives. Death shouldn’t be a punishment for stealing, but I feel the execution is a clear message of “don’t mess with us” to the man and anyone who might scheme with/like him. I suspect the method of death chosen was to make it look like a “natural death.” Question 11: Reveal hidden contents Connor is definitely aware of Angelo’s behavior. Probably not to the extent that Lilia has experienced, but he knows the shit personality is there. I feel he turns the other cheek, because He’s dependent on Angelo for income. Connor mentioned something about money earlier and it reminded me kind of like an abused spouse. He’s stuck in this relationship where he can’t get out so he pretends everything is okay and turns a blind eye to the bad. From what we’ve read so far, Connor seems like an okay guy but a slight pushover when it comes to Angelo. Question 12: Reveal hidden contents It was a little strange to me that he seeks sex out so regularly considering his dislike. I suspect his touch phobia will come up as some repressed abuse. I have no clue what it could be, but I’m sure it’ll create issues for him and Lilia as the story goes on. Thank you for the answers friend! So to respond on question 9 Spoiler I agree!!! Like to us it seems soooo over the too but I think the way old money keeps is through confidentiality and a threat to that is a threat to everything they have.

Maybe it’s stripping the nutrients causing the markings and leaving behind the “un-needed” which creates the stench? Either way, these parts are my least favorite. Question 14: Hide contents I’m honestly hoping it doesn’t evolve past this stage. After teeth, it’s usually eyes then hands and feet. All options are absolutely terrifying. I couldn’t believe it got away, too. 😰 Question 15: Hide contents Devryk mentioned something about Lippincott having married into the secret society thingy. He isn’t a “pure-blood.” Langmore could be a member born into the society and thus has more status/power than Lippincott despite being a former drunkard. Question 16: Reveal hidden contents Devryk brings up a lot about his dad’s “mess” that he has to take responsibility for. Whatever the studies are trying to do/find must be important to restore his families reputation. Perhaps he can fix whatever his dad did by finding a “cure” or “fix” before anyone else can? Thank you for the answers friend. Ok response to number 13 Spoiler I think you are right on the money and it also creeps me out!! There are many examples in nature of organisms feeding on what they need be it plants or animals and leaving the rest so I think that is a perfect guess for what we see in the bodies. Makes me wonder how horrible it must be for the hosts...

Ok, they're parasites so they literally feed off of organic material. We know the study and experiments have been going on at least for a number of decades now. My guess is the parasites are burrowing deeper than before, feeding off of more material, and at a faster rate. Question 14: Forced evolution can speed up the process. I'm thinking like hybrid dog breeds and the like. It seems as though the parasite worms are beginning to develop attributes of what it feeds off of. First, teeth then maybe sharp nails, like finger and toe nails. Definitely only the harmful destructive attributes. Question 15: At this point in the story it seems it is simply a story of success, jealousy and desire. Lippicot knows about her relationship with Bramwell, he has too in such a small insulated world. It seems....now... like lust. I'm sure being the only female character besides our FMC doesn't help. Even in the real world, portions if not all of academia is male dominated. Question 16: Bramwell's personal and family history is wrapped up in this. He has much more at stake than Lippicot's desire for prestige. I think the effects of the experiments are much darker and much more manipulative as we go further along. Spoiler Spoiler Thank you for the answers friend! Ok also response to 13 (yall have spme amazing answers for this one) Spoiler Ohhhhhh interesting and very realistic guess on it taking on attributes of the host!!! I wonder if the parasite may begin tp also gain more intelligence along the way with its mutations. This is getting scary lol.

Thank you for your answers friend! Response to number 18: Spoiler Omg this is brilliant!!! A cure for addiction at least the physical part would be a perfect application of this! Just infect to get them off and feeling nice, do a bunch of therapy in the meantime and then remove the parasite before it dpes too much damage. With this guess we can also see why this research may be worth a TON of money.

Its like now he is clear and realizes what he has done and with that realization comes a certain acceptance and maybe longing for death. An end to the guilt and shame I think he now feels deeply.

MissNMTX Posted yesterday at 07:20 PM Report Posted yesterday at 07:20 PM Spoiler Woohoo I found the questions.! These were my favorite chapters thus far so I'm excited to answer the questions. Question 30: I think his feelings surrounding his brother's death are two fold. There is the 'typical' ' sibling bond and the 'typical' grief that would come from losing sibling. That combined with them having survived an abusive childhood together only serves to deepen and strengthen their bond. Which would I turn intensify his grief. Factor in that grief is permanent and it all makes sense to me. Spoiler Question 31: I know they say it's common for those abused to grow up to be abusers, but I really don't believe that's the case with him. I don't think he would ever harm children. I do believe he would continue his research though by continuing the was he does. I think he sees it as some sort of karma or vigilant justice. Also, I'm dying to know more of Lila's mom's backstory. There is more connections there I just know it. Spoiler Question 32:: I have such mixed thoughts on this. Obviously, throughout history women have done what 's necessary to survive. I appreciate a friend. Supporting what you need without judgement and encouraging you to make the most of things. I just can't imagine anything like that much less being encouraged into it.. Spoiler Question 33:: I think he doesn't because he does see it as some sort of 'justice' in relation to the the types of subjects/victims that he selects. Some sort of retribution or pay back.. perhaps for his own childhood. He doesn't improve the conditions because he is exercising more than one demon and simply doesn't want to. Spoiler Question 34: this is a complex social question. Should you be able to curate and post material as a mentally healthy, consenting adult? Yes. It doesn't have to be consumed. Much like the fourm, no one makes it here by accident you have to search it out. However, even a cursory understanding will tell you that there are often so many factors at play that don't involve health and consent and often involved abuse, coercion, and manipulation . Hence, why we struggle.
DaddysCosmicBunny Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Question 22: Spoiler This may be completely unrelated to Lilia. My guess is he probably disrespected someone in the cult’s daughter/sister/cousin/girlfriend/wife because he’s that much of a creep. I’m biased, of course. Question 23: Spoiler Devryk doesn’t seem like the type to have a thing for his students. I suspect the rumor about the other student has little to nothing to do with him directly, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Gilchrist has something to do with it. I feel it’s the biggest reason she wanted Lilia removed from the class. Maybe she suspects it’s the same situation as with the other student. Question 24: Spoiler This was a struggle for me to get through. Clearly, Devryk is extremely guarded and doesn’t like people in his business. I feel Ghilchrist was overstepping due to her jealousy and he was standing his ground by putting her in her place. It’s clear she thinks they’re more than they are to try and get Lilia removed from his class, but I’m glad (even though harsh) he was able to keep his boundaries. I’d argue it would make him unapproachable in my eyes, but that’s kinda what he wants. lol Question 25: Spoiler Maybe they cause a spike of adrenaline at midnight? I won’t pretend to know anything about parasites, but it could be the body is on overdrive since it’s making the host “better”. Kind of like a mania high. Question 26: Spoiler My vote is on the unusual background and story of how Lilia ended up at the school. She automatically gets placed in his class and he notices that she isn’t this rich girl who paid her way in. She worked hard academically and it shows. Question 27: Spoiler I wouldn’t be surprised if she end up being the jilted ex-lover. I def get the impression that she thinks her relationship with Devryk is more than what it is. It may affect Lilia’s educational environment while she’s there. Question 28: Spoiler Curiosity killed the cat lol I wouldn’t say it’s justified to put herself in danger by being nosey, but I can understand the draw of finding the peculiar professor of the school throwing knives in the woods. Question 29: Spoiler I assume it’s a condition, but it’s kind of unclear what the trigger is. I want to say it’s stress, but it isn’t consistent.
