Now that we are nearing the final few chapters of the book and we have had a chance to really get to know our couple ... What do you think of them as people themselves? Not as a couple but just as individuals and the choices they have made and their overall personalities? — So, they honestly both really struggle with life…😅 I do love how once Travis is in something he’s all in. Also, I love how tough Abby is. 31. Considering their past and all involved, do you think Abby and Travis's relationship will last? — Yes, at this point they’ve already been through so much and ended up together! 😅 32. A fun one. It was a little too much at times and great at others. Def a Netflix show I'd watch if it was one. Favorite Main and Minor Characters - Hide contents Travis is my favorite main character. Based off of what we learn from him in the book, I feel therapy will go a long way for him. My favorite minor character is Shepley. I feel he was more of Travis' foil. Where Travis was hot-headed, Shep was usually the logical one. Favorite Quote - Hide contents "I'm not your anything," I snapped, glaring up at him. His eyebrows pulled in and he stopped dancing. "You're my everything." I feel this encompasses their entire relationship. It's a sweet response from Travis, but it's also extremely toxic. He's being honest about his feelings, but it also gives insight to obsessive and possessiveness. Least favorite and most favorite thing about the book? Hide contents Least favorite would be how Parker was treated. He was constantly disrespected by Abby and mutual respect is the bare minimum people can give each other. She didn't owe him anything, but she also didn't have to be so cold-hearted. Most favorite was the " -gasp!- there's only one bed 🫣" trope. It was nice how it was worked in twice.😜 If this book were a meal what would it be? Hide contents I don't have a specific meal in mind, but I def see it like junk food. The kind that is so good, hits the spot, and is needed after a super poopy day. The kind you shouldn't be eating, but can't stop going back to. Brownies, pizza, cookies, burgers, fries, ice cream, and more. 😂 Between all of our characters in the book which was your facorite relationship whether it be family or friends or romantic? Hide contents I gotta admit, Kara's relationship with the others has to be my favorite. She was such an unwilling participant in it all and made it known. It was clear she was most at peace when Abby stayed at the boy's apartment. Tell us one thing that suprised you about the book. Hide contents Omg, the end! Like, that was so scary serious! I felt so bad for Travis and everything that happened to all the other students. I def didn't see it coming. Then their decision to go to Vegas?? And she got a tattoo?? Yeah, the ending was wild. Did you enjoy this read? Will you join the next one and if so what things would you like to see? Hide contents I did enjoy this read! It was fun and great to read along with others. While I enjoyed some aspects of the characters or dialogue, I also just couldn't get into as much with the unhealthy relational dynamics that were so present with everyone. It actually gave me a giggle because I realized, that if the author sticks it in a completely other build fantasy/sci-fi world, gives the characters wings or shadow powers then suddenly I have no problem with jealous behaviour, violence, emotional games etc. But put it in the real world and my therapist brain can't turn off, I read being like oooo that is very dysfunctional. 🤣🤪🙃 Favorite Main and Minor Characters - Similar to some others here I actually really enjoyed Finch the most and Travis' father. If I had to pick out of the main characters, I guess I liked Travis more than the others for his moments of healing he worked on. I also had the most problems with him. Favorite Quote - "I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn't something about you at all. It was just you." This quote resonated with my own experiences. Least favorite and most favorite thing about the book? I couldn't stand the constant relational dysfunction, by everyone. I found their relationships immature and lacking emotional integrity - but then I also held space for the fact they are all college age. But there was just so much purposeful "I'm jealous so I am going to hurt you back', like drunken dancing, sexing etc. And so many fights got out of hand. And too much violence. I am not sure about my favourite to be honest...I guess that we read it all together so it still made the experience enjoyable. If this book were a meal what would it be? Hmm tough one...it would need to be something that is probably not good for me and I should have grown out of, but I secretly enjoy the bad habit of it anyway. Ooo like eating uncooked hotdog straight out of the fridge. Or maybe popcorn cause that's the thing you eat when you watch messy, crazy, drama unfold! 🍿 Between all of our characters in the book which was your favorite relationship whether it be family or friends or romantic? It would be Travis' family and his father. Tell us one thing that surprised you about the book. It surprised me that as much as I struggled with the relational dynamics, the storyline itself did still catch me up in it, so I still eagerly read it, gobbling it up....I guess it was a little like watching a trainwreck and reaching for the popcorn! 🤣 Did you enjoy this read? I didn't enjoy the book, but did enjoy reading along as I always do, its so wonderful just to be in book club and think about questions and see everyone else's reflections too.
