About This Club

Do you feel alone these days? Does the lack of community in the world make you a little sad? Do you maybe have issues staying on track physically or emotionally during the week? Welcome to Takes a Village, our new day to day community club and body doubling system. When going thrpugh the forum I seem to see alot of folks who want to be more involved but maybe dont see how or where to do so. I think we all feel maybe we dont have much "exciting" to share. This is your place. My hope is that active folks on here will start using this club and create an even closer mini community. So let me kind of explain. First off is the body doubling. This is where people just be together, either for real or emotionally, so that they can do tasks that feel overwhelming or hard. I will explain more in that section but this is where we help eachother get stuff done! We also still have our wonderful arts and crafts section. It will be managed by the talented Andriel who will have some fun new craft events to help us interact because that is the goal here. As much interacting as possible. With that in mind know this club only works if folks step out and actually comment/use it! We also have the Sanity Board. A place to get advice or input on daily things that you need to know before you lose your mind. Finally, the Accomplishment board where we will lift you up for all your successes, even if it is as small as loading the dishes or waking up (a tailored response to EVERY SINGLE POST from yours truly is garunteed). *whispers* We may even have our own live chat for daily things... So please! Come in and make this place even better with your wonderful selves.
  1. What's new in this club
  2. Woooooooo, I recognize that style of bracelet making!! 🀩 They look fantastic. Thank you for sharing
  3. @Little Nyx I mean, it IS difficult to argue with that logic.
  4. @Flower_Dragon Ok, hear me out. The base colors are the same, so technically there isn't much difference but it gave me a good excuse to buy more floss. {wink} Demisexual: black triange, thick white stripe, thin purple stripe, thick grey stripe. I represented it with double black, white, and grey and single purple layers. Asexual: even sized stripes of black, grey, white, purple. Different sized stripes in different color orders means I need different bracelets, right?!? {giggle}

    A strange one...

Oh that sucks. But progress is progress, even when it slows down. Hopefully, you'll feel better soon. For now, give yourself grace. πŸ’ You deserve healing time.
  6. @Little Nyx Genuine question. How would the asexual bracelet be different than the demisexual?
  7. Flower_Dragon

    In case anyone needs it

@PigtailPrincess I didn't actually watch the show, but the theme is just such a banger. Just an amazing hype song.

    A strange one...

You are doing a great job! Your body appreciates the nutrients it needs to recuperate and heal. And don't forget to drink water. That is important, too! Hope you are feeling better soon. Even if only a little.
  9. From left to right: Pride, demisexual, reciprosexual, middle, demiromantic, little, and demigirl. Working on a remake of demiromantic (I don't like the thinner bracelet) and one for agender and asexual. I have a bunch of others that I made that are just pretty but these fit this month's theme.

I started choosing comfort over fashion a LONG time ago, and not straining my eyes definitely counts as comfort.

    A strange one...

Oh, this is so difficult to be sick and struggling to find foods you like to eat... I hope you are able to find some foods that are safe to eat and help you feel better! You are not alone in this battle. I struggle too. You are brave for reaching out for help and I am sending you encouragement strength from afar.

    A strange one...

This may seem really strange but I have alot of food aversions and lately having something chronic going on and now being sick on top of it my issues are in high gear. I am alright I wanna stress that, this is strictly for a little encouragement. However I can feel my body slowing on the healing process so I need to do some good healthy eating today I would love if someone wanted to helo keep me reminded and encouraged today so I can get well fast.

Thank you!!! This was right in the feels as I always remember watching the VHS cassettes of the show at my grannys when I was younger. Good memories.
  16. PigtailPrincess

    Take one. Or more.

Love this so much!!! I am actually going to tweak the description here so thank you! I hadn't originally added positive talk but I think it fits in PERFECTLY in this section. So thank you friend. Today with still being pretty sick I am really trying to feel like a burden so I will choose that one.
  17. These are great ideas!!!! I'm totally going to think about ideas! Gotta follow this so I can post later! Thanks for starting this!!!
  18. I'll be making a theme each month of the year to encourage everyone to share their creativity. For June it is Pride πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ anything and everything! What's one thing you can craft to show your pride or support? Whether it's loud and proud or quiet and strong. As a Big or little. Something you made yourself, a work in progress, or a DIY wish you have that's related to PRIDE we want to see it here! Use any medium you'd like. Here's my craft for starters of this month πŸ–€πŸ€πŸ’œ Cuz I like to paint rocks πŸͺ¨πŸ–ŒοΈ One of these days I'd like to sew together my own Ace flag shirt as I gather old t-shirts from thrift stores. πŸ˜… when I get around to it. I love repurposing stuff! Please share what crafty ways you show Pride, Love, and Support!
  19. Feel free to take as many as you need - You're doing better than you think you are. No one's mad at you. You're loved. You're valid. They're busy, not ignoring you. Drink some water. Grab a snack. Cuddle a stuffie. You're worthy of love just as you are. You're not a burden. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to do things that make you happy just because they make you happy. Feeling your feelings is ok. Crying is ok. You're beautiful even when you don't think you are. You're stronger than you think you are. You're brave for staying. You matter. Always.

I mean, sometimes you just have to. Last year I think, I got an obnoxious amount of TokiDoki blind boxes cuz they were on sale and I wanted them. They're so neat. Ah, magnifying lenses. That makes sense. Also, good work doing the unsightly necessary things!

@Flower_Dragon I have a secret... I use clip on magnifing lenses over my glasses that are twice as strong as the ones I use for reading and computer work. My glasses are set so I can see things far away clearly for daily life, driving and such. Bifocals send my vertigo into superdrive (since it's already always in overdrive) so I use the clip on magnifing lenses for close up work instead. They are easy to put on and take off and can flip up out of the way if I need to see further out without removing them. And they are not super heavy or uncomfortable. It makes it a lot easier to see the tiny detail areas in all my crafts. I caught more kits on sale yesterday, and ordered 3! Those, along with the new brushes, has surpassed my June crafting budget, but I just couldn't resist. The painting is really meeting my older little/middle's crafting needs right now, and they were on sale, and I've been such a good girl doing all the responsible, big things like chores and phone calls and appointments even when I don't feel well.
  22. I posted this in TLC, but figured I should post it here too. In case anybody needs it. Also, the information that metal covers to Disney songs are a thing. Do with that information what you will.

Seriously, this is amazing. Thinking about painting tiny areas like that makes me go a bit cross eyed.

Making progress! I was able to wiggle new brushes into my budget!! I can't wait until they get here. It will make such a difference on the tiny detail areas.

    Bug Prevention

Me too! It's super scary. I carry a bottle of windex around with me all summer like an old west gunslinger. The wasps don't like it when sprayed and usually buzz off {snicker at the pun} but it's not harmful to people or property, even when the wind blows it back into your face (which tends to happen often when spinning in a circle spraying wildly while hoping you don't land on your butt). It's well worth smelling like windex for a few months to drive off the assholes with wings!

    Bug Prevention

I feel that. I have strong reactions to bits and am flat out super allergic to any bee stings and we try to be csreful
