My Strange Addiction...the TV Show

Hello again everyone. People are sharing a lot of interesting videos with me today which I believe I should share with you.

 

This one is from the tv show My Strange Addiction. The video here is just a clip but this individuals addiction is being an adult baby.

 

So far as I am concern anyone can take their love of ddlg as far as they want and I think its wrong that this person had to say they have a strange addiction to something like this. And then when averages people watch that show will they assume that our group is like that?

So. This is more on the extreme side of DD/lg, a lot closer to ABDL (which literally says adult baby). Obviously she has a way to make money and it doesn't impact her life in a hazardous way. It does kind of seem like these tv shows are really fake and I've never liked this show nor TLC due to their content being creepy and invasive.

 

As for this being an "addiction", I can't really see it as that. It makes her happy and it's not like she's drinking bleach. People should just let her be and maybe she would find someone if she opened up to the ABDL community.

Tlc, a&e etc etc are all vultures. Exploitive lowlifes! Shows like this disgust me - as does intervention and all the other shows like it. I understand people want their 15 minutes of fame but these shows shouldn't exist. There's just nothing glorious or glamorous about someone's struggles or someone's life falling apart.

I do not see this as an addiction. Yes, it is unusual to be that into baby items....but she's not hurting anyone and is doing it in private to comfort herself....so I don't see why it's being shown as some dangerous addiction. I could see concern if she were getting fired from jobs for pulling out pacifiers at her desk...but she seems like she gets along okay in the world. 

 

This show does seem to want to make anything unusual or uncommon into a scary and damaging addiction.

should be called my different lifestyle, cause that's what it is. Lavender is pretty much right, the clip is showing more of an abdl lifestyle rather than ddlg.

 

also riley is making money of her lifestyle, those "15 minutes of fame" might have helped to get a bit more attention.

@ Don Pablo - Just because something is quasi identifiable.. doesn't mean it is understood. Lets ask the average Miley or Melanie fan what DD/lg or abdl is and see how accurate their answer is? Or do they think it's a fashion statement.. Like how the general public sees Lolita? My money would be on they'd look at you with a blank stare on their face trying to figure out if it's some new instagram/twitter speak. 

 

Crap like this further spreads misinformation. It's not an addiction - I feel like Inigo Montoya from Princess Brides "You keep saying that word, But i do not think it means what you think it means" - Its a choice of lifestyle she chose and is clearly profiting from. 

 

and that 15 minutes of fame - just painted age play/ABDL in a very negative light. "Oh, she does this because she's weird and addicted to it" Sorry, but I don't live like this because I have issues, instability or to make a living. This is my life... this is all our lives. Way to reinforce stereotypes because sheeple that watch that crap aren't going to sit down and be like "I am going to research this before i make a judgement" There are going to believe it because that is what the media is telling them. The same reason most people think I call my husband Daddy because i have issues with my father. 

 

I refuse to believe that this should be shown on the same show that showcased a girl eating Ajax.

i've never said it's understood. i'm just stating the obvious, ddlg/abdl is getting more attention in general. But yeah you're right most of the people won't get past the point to see it as a lifestyle and just shrug it off as a marketing thing.

true true, but close-minded people will stay close-minded. i don't think that you'd get better results by sitting down yourself and explaining to someone, why you like calling your partner daddy or using a pacifier, who's first reaction to this video would be "ew gross, I only do missionary style everything else is perverted". i know enough people that even if given the right information, would still judge this lifestyle.

i'm not defending the show, it's pretty stupid (although it could have been worse) but I just don't understand what's so bad about media coverage?

don't get me wrong, the show is crap, yes it's spreading misinformation but i strongly believe that even if portrayed right, those people would still judge the lifestyle just because its out of the norm

Honestly when I saw that episode, before I knew anything about Ab/dl or dd/lg or anything I was like, THATS SO CUTE I WANT TO BE A BIG BABY and now here I am. When Daddy and I live together I'm begging for a crib !
