Guest AMS23
So I searched for this and couldn’t find anything. It’s probably because I’m using the mobile version right now buuut I was wondering if anyone wants to share and awkward first date or even awkward date in general?? I had one once where I bought him the best curry in town. I bought our alcohol for the night. At first he decided to complain the food was too spicy. Then he didn’t like the alcohol I chose. So it was off too an awkward start. After that he decided it was a great idea to blast shitty music just when things got spicy in a different sense haha Of course I can laugh now! But for sure awkward. Share your stories I’d love to hear em!
WhysperKit
It wasn't what I would have called a date, at least at the time, but I invited out a bunch of friends while we were all stationed in Japan to go out to the nearby mall for the day (it was huge). Everyone single one of them bailed on me except him lol It was a little awkward because I hadn't hung out with him alone before and he was a little older than me, higher ranking and not really someone I talked to much at work. But we went out and visited stores and stuff. I managed to drag him into a massage place I knew really well (like 40 bucks for an hour massage). Afterward, we went to find dinner and decided on the Outback Steakhouse that was literally downstairs from the massage place. On the way there we had to walk down a sidewalk and cross a street. He had his hand at the small of my back and wouldn't allow me next to the road (found out later he was already a little dominant with me lol). Dinner was wonderful, if not a little awkward because we didn't know what, outside of work, to talk about. Hopped the train back to town and then taxi'd back to base. Overall a great night for our "first date" ^^
Guest MisterW
I'll share. Not too awkward really, but it just happened last night so it's fresh. I met a young woman on a dating app. We've messaged/texted since 8/20. She reached out to me first with the generic "Hey there." I bit. She's really a beautiful young woman. The texting was consistent. I mean we didn't slow down, there was genuine interest between us. We had a phone date Thursday night last week. I could kind of tell that we ddn't have great chemistry when it came to verbal communication. But I also didn't want to close the door on something. I've been known to read things wrong so I wanted to give things a chance. So we met for dinner and drinks last night at a very intimate spot in her city. The waitress brought us extra candles which I thought was sweet. We didn't ask her, she was just paying attention. And she took excellent care of us all night. That was attractive. My date looked beautiful. We talked and shared a few laughs. Ate some okay food and drank an okay drink. But there was no spark. Just none. I think if I were younger I would have tried to force myself to be into her. Just because she's a really nice person and really pretty and I used to think that should be enough for me. And it sounds like she has a loving family and a good group of friends. She's smart. Attractive. Kind. I mean what's not to like? Well... nothing. There's nothing I don't like about her. She's really great. Offered to split the check, which I admired in her. But still... no spark. No chemistry. Two and a half hours later we went our separate ways and neither of us texted the other goodnight. And then this morning on the train to work, when I knew I didn't want to pursue a relationship with her. I sent her a genuinely kind text explaining that I wished we'd had a love connection, but we didn't. And she quickly texted back wishing me well. Nice way to end things, and it's good knowing that neither of us are suffering emotional rejection. Not awkward, I know. But a little bit frustrating, when you want to like someone and you don't. I felt like she felt the same way. Anyway... Now if I can just find my person.
Guest Bunnyblossom
I was with my Daddy. I shit my pants on the way back to the hotel we were staying at after going to a pizza party for my brother’s 21st. Lil old lady got in the elevator with us as I was frantically tryna literally keep my shit together. I ran down the hallway on our floor, go to use the keycard and realized I went the wrong direction and was at the wrong room, and that’s when it happened. Like a nutella sneeze. He loves me for me

Guest Bunnyblossom
Holy shizzlesticks... that wasn't a date anymore at that point though. It was over the moment I expressed my urgency to leave the party. Aside from that, a good night had by all.

Guest Avi
Not really awkward, but kinda evil on my lart. No regrets tho. I saw my date waiting for me at the designated spot and just lookin' around for me. I decided to call her and tell her to look for me. (I was literally standing about 10 meters from her) she was gettin' a lil anxious because she thought i was scare her, but i told her not to worry and just look for me. I was chuckling like a little schoolgirl while she had the most confused look ive ever seen as she was trying to locate my ass. It ended up being a great way to kind of "break the ice" because we immediately had a topic which was "youre such a dick" (couldnt have agreed more) we actually had a great date!
