When your DD has low self esteem

Can a DDlg relationship be successful if the lg is codependent on a DD with low self esteem? If he needs to reminded that he's loved a lot and needs continuous reasurrment. I may be wrong, but that doesn't sound like a very good DD to me.

I think it depends on the two people involved. This kind of DD might be perfect for some littles, and not for others. DDs are, indeed, human and will all be different with their own needs, experiences and fears.

I think it doesn't matter. I love to cheer up my daddy if he's down!

I think that the relationship is okay if the dd has low self esteem bc heshe is a person too. it happens.

If the low self-esteem is constant I don't think it's healthy for him to be in a DDlg relationship. It would be difficult to think about another person's needs  when you're not confident with yourself. The low self-esteem should be addressed and dealt with before jumping into a DDlg dynamic.

Being a DD with self esteem issues myself, this question hit home for me. I think if you were to ask my little if I was a good DD despite these issues she would most definitely say yes. I agree with Remi on the fact that Daddies and Doms are expected to present themselves a certain way, and I've noticed that a lot of littles/subs expect this all the time. To reiterate what many others were saying though, we are people too. We have feelings and emotions, and sometimes they get the better of us just like everyone else. It's up to you to decide whether it's too much for you to handle, but if you really like your DD and he treats you good, maybe try giving him some time. Maybe it's something that will pass. Or maybe it's something that you could help him overcome as his little. Sometimes Daddies need love, affection and yes even help every now and then too. Best of luck to you.
