Guest Posted October 31, 2018 Report Posted October 31, 2018 I put on a large pot of water, add sugar and citrus fruit with vanilla and a very tiny bit of cinnamon. Simmer and keep adding water. It smells better when the water is lower because the smell gets concentrated. I love lemon and orange. You can also do this with apples.

Tinka Posted October 31, 2018 Report Posted October 31, 2018 Heyo! Cleaning/disinfecting it quit often is a good thing and ofc everyday please try to leave the windows open for a good amount of time! i personally love other smells like the smell of coffee, cookies, pies etc so in various times i `d like the house to smell like that because of something i baked, or because of a syrup i use to make to go with french toast or tea etc. It has honey, clove, vanilla, cinamon, ginger, nutmeg and wine. So the house smells really good for hours. Also in slavic countries i think (bohemian) we make christmas wine at home which means that we buy a sweet red wine (that i think has honey too) and put a mixture of spices inside (they sell it in super markets, it also contains cloves and smells like christmas). This makes the house to smell great..! Any other kind of jam, strudel etc is also nice smell. Anyway apart from baking, a nice way to make the house smell nice is this---> http://prntscr.com/lcwikh (sfw) when the night comes i always light up candles and in one of these things i put vanilla oil (you can find thousands of oils and choose what do you like) and water (i have broken 2 glass plates because i forgot to refill it so be careful) and the house smells awesome!... Some oils smell better and more intense, so change a few brands. I remember my mother has a great one, but i cant be picky, since i dont find a lot of brands where i am. I always spray sheets with some mild but clean smelling (or sweet smelling) perfume. ofc last thing would be to buy one of these sprays that activates it self every hour or so, but there is no reason for this
LittleCelticLass Posted October 31, 2018 Report Posted October 31, 2018 (edited) do diffusers last as long as advertised? at least from your personal experienceMy diffuser lasts as long as the water in it does. I use a vapor diffuser, not the wooden stick things. I don't think those last well. I'm on my phone, so I'll find a link and post it when I get home so you can see what I mean. This is similar to what I have. https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Diffuser-150ml-Natrogix-Totem/dp/B071L5RRJ7/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1541031284&sr=8-14&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=vaporizer+for+essential+oils# Edited November 1, 2018 by LittleCelticLass
Guest .Bunny. Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) lol! I just love the smell of cooking garlic. Or sauteing onions. Always makes me hungry! The wood scents are my favorite, though, if you're talking perfume-y. Sandalwood = Edited November 1, 2018 by .Bunny.

Guest FluffyLittleLilac Posted November 6, 2018 Report Posted November 6, 2018 I use this to make my house smell so good. You may not like the scent but it’s worth a shot. I’m unsure whether or not you’re familiar with the following terms, so I’ll briefly explain it using a source because I’m terrible at explaining what it is exactly. The traditional incense burners are known as Mubkhara or Medhan, in the Arabic language. The Mubkharas can be made from wood, ceramic or metal. The stage (where the bakhoor and coal is placed) is usually made from metal or ceramic. Oud is the general term given to the perfume oil extracted, using a variety of techniques, from the wood of the Agarwood tree. Bakhoor is usually the general term used to refer to, mainly wood chips, soaked in fragrant oils that can be burned to release their intoxicating fragrance.Bakhoor is burned using charcoal traditionally. Safety warning: Burning bakhoor at home is a fire hazard. Be careful not to make a fire when using the charcoal. Do not leave bakhoor burning unattended. Do not leave bakhoor burning in a place where someone is sleeping or within the reach of children. Please keep charcoals and burners out of the reach of children. Electric burners MUST be unplugged immediately after use.
ayyman Posted November 14, 2018 Report Posted November 14, 2018 Take one of those dryer bounce bar cloth things, put it behind a fan and turn the fan on. Now everything will smell like it came out of the dryer.
Guest DaddyDN Posted November 15, 2018 Report Posted November 15, 2018 Cooking garlic? Lol. ♡ I'd love to use incense, but my kitty is super-allergic. I agree with the garlic. I'm getting hungry now.
Guest Babykitkat 23 Posted November 16, 2018 Report Posted November 16, 2018 if you take some vanilla extract and use 2 tablespoons and put it in a baking dish. Put the oven on for a heat of 350 degrees F. A few minutes later it will smell like vanilla and heaven....just dont use more then 2 tablespoons or it could end up smelling like hillbury doughboys butthole.

potato Posted August 25, 2019 Report Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) I have a bunch of plants standing around and I run through my flat with a bundle of burning sage once in a while! Gotta keep them demons at bay and it smells good! Edited August 26, 2019 by Nashina 1
LittleTeacup Posted August 26, 2019 Report Posted August 26, 2019 I got an orange essential oil spray to neutralize odors. Important now that I'm living in close quarters with several other people in the woods, including some guys. Keeping all our windows open works wonders too. I personally find that air fresheners not made with water and essential oils smell really bad to me. Febreze, Oust, etc. I can smell the chemicals and sometimes it will drive me out of a room or make me cough. Honestly in my opinion, getting rid of stuff with synthetic fragrances (including dish soap, air fresheners, laundry detergent, etc) and replacing them with either unscented products or natural essential oil fragrances will do wonders for the quality of air in your home. And don't forget to open your windows sometimes, unless you live in a particularly polluted area.
