What is my Ex's deal?

So my ex boyfriend hit me up in facebook, he friend request me then message me after I accepted. He claimed that he wanted to check up on me and see how I was doing. We had a casual conversation and he seemed surprised I didn't want to cut his throat. I had a long time to come to terms with what he did to me and I am happy right now in my life. He also apologized for what he did and I kind of delved into what happened but then he was like "lets not argue it's in the past." To which I got mad and said "well for you since you got to move on with someone else while I dealt with it on my own."

And he apologized and said we could talk about it to which I said nevermind because I new that conversation would hurt me . I also apologized for my part in the relationship. Fast forward, we agreed to be friends (I offered) and that was it. The next day, I hit him up because I had an phone interview for a really big internship and  I wanted to talk to someone and everyone was busy.

So we talked; fast forward again. I started to feel "feelings" and having the feeling of wanting to talk to him more and more which I know for me are signs of me becoming infatuated and I just couldn't do it. I realized I was still in love with my ex after all this time but the problem is he hurt me unbelievably bad for another girl that he had just broken up with and said she wasn't worth it ( what we had). And it just made me feel bad because I really loved you and you went for someone else that in the end you say wasn't worth it? I just know that for me there a lot of unanswered questions that he only can answer but one) I'm too afraid of the answers and two) it's not going to change anything even if I do know. I really wanted to be his friend but when you love someone as much as I do him its nearly impossible to stay in that friendzone.

So after a long night of crying and talking to my big cousin about it, I decided it was best we weren't friends and left his message saying that and explaining why to which he never responded. A day after I sent the unfriend message; I get a friend request from his supposed ex-girlfriend.

This is the second time she did this; the first was a few months ago when she suspected we had something going on because he was (as she told me) lurking my profile checking up on me. . So I accept her friend request and I click the wave option and no response. Then I asked her why she friend request me and is this about so-and-so. No response. So I click her profile and their a recent picture from and hour before of them KISSING and I am just like I knew he couldn't' change.

So I was a little annoyed she friend request me because I didn't want to talk about him. I didn't want to be apart of their games and I told her look I don't want to be apart of you and your man's games. I don't like drama. and I told my ex the same thing then I block both of their messages so I couldn't see their responses. I just don't get what's going on.
Was I wrong to do what I did? Am I overthinking it? Was my ex lying to ? What was his deal? What was hers?

Hi,

Sounds to me like he was feeling you out a bit to see if you might be interested in getting involved again. Maybe he was going to do to this new girl what he did to you as well. I would try to not spend to much time on thinking about it because it will only make your spin and you will be spending time thinking about someone that does not deserve your thoughts at all.

Feel free to reach out to me here or on kik if you would ever like to talk and I am sorry that you were treated poorly.

Guest Vintage Daddy

Only thing you did wrong IMHO was accepting the friend requests in the first place.

Cheaters always keep cheating, so he was probably looking to line something up... and she just wants to screw with your head.
