disney little Posted September 5, 2019 Report Posted September 5, 2019 So I'm a little that likes to suck on my thumb sometimes when i'm in little space. However, when I do suck my thumb, I end up having small little bruises. I can only guess it's from my teeth even though I don't bite down on my finger. I may rest my teeth on that part, but that is all i can think of. I had thought this was a normal thing till i was talking to one of my little friends and they said they never get bruises. Does anyone else get any? is there a way not to? am i just a weird bean?
Little kaiya Posted September 5, 2019 Report Posted September 5, 2019 I will often suck my thumb or Daddy will put his thumb in my mouth to suck and neither he or I get bruises from it. If you're getting bruises from the light pressure of resting your teeth on your thumb that seems quite unusual and might be something to check with your doctor. Bruising that easily could be a sign that something is off and it's better to check than to just leave it be. Little kaiya

Only reason i say it probably isn't something wrong is because i will suck on my thumb for at least an hour or longer depending on how anxious i am or how deep into head space i am. But thank you.
Purinsesu Posted September 5, 2019 Report Posted September 5, 2019 I have always been a thumbsucker but I can't remember ever bruising my thumb before. Often I'll wake up and my teeth marks will be there, but it has never bruised as far as I know. My thumb does have a little hard spot where my teeth always hit that the other thumb doesn't have. I've had that for as long as I can remember since I've been a thumbsucker my whole life. I do think some people bruise easier than others, but I never heard about bruising from sucking a thumb before, so best to get that checked with your doctor if possible!
jelloprincess Posted September 6, 2019 Report Posted September 6, 2019 If you're creating enough suction you might be bursting blood vessels -- basically giving yourself little hickeys. Do you bruise easily in general? If so, you should probably bring it up with your doctor. That can be a sign of a serious underlying health problem that should be looked into.
