peachprince Posted July 9, 2020 Report Posted July 9, 2020 Maybe try some communication techniques that don't require "talking" [or really words at all] like extra cuddling or just being by each other, sending songs that show how you're feeling to each other, or pictures and gifs. I do this when I'm having trouble thinking of the right words, or am in a depressive mode and don't want to talk. You could also try having a sit down where you agree on some rules that could help you with talking more (if you have rules in your dynamic!) Like having to send "good morning/ good night" texts and sending an emoji based on your mood or level of talky-ness (like the red/yellow/green system!) I hope some of this helps!! 1
RavenclawPrincess Posted July 9, 2020 Report Posted July 9, 2020 One option that you can look into is figuring out "triggers" to help you control when you enter little space. Certain activities and items can be used to signal that it's time to be little. It's possible to get yourself in the habit of staying out of little space without these specific triggers being present to signal that it's ok to be little, but that'll take some time and work to do. Another strategy that I've seen to counter this is for the CG to say "Hey, I need to talk to adult/big (insert partner's name here)" as needed and that can also be helpful in signalling that it isn't a good time to be in little space while prompting a mental shift for a serious conversation that needs to happen. 1
