These are two things my dad always said that really resonated with me. They keep me from spiraling downward and remind me that I may not control my life but I do control how I react and respond to my life.

When I hear that, I respond, "nope, I'll rip off the sheets and remake it if I don't like it." There is always a way to change your situation and circumstances, it might just take detailed planning, endurance until the time is ready and dedication to make it happen.

The exact words aren't always at the forefront of my mind (more like the basic concepts), but I went through some of my boards on Pinterest to find some that really resonate with me: "Do not resist your pain. When I allow my feelings to be heard in all their messy rawness and hold space for them, they eventually release and I feel pure peace and even joy. Resisting things is exhausting.
