LolitasDaddy
Hey there. Was wondering how everyone else keeps their parter close when they have to be away from them? For my little girl and I, we have special stuffies that we exchanged long ago, that I adore everyday. I keep an otter figure she got me at my desk, along with some of her art she has done. I also have perfumes that she has worn on very memorable occasions. Her scent is very tied to my memory, and can almost always make her feel so much closer. We also use a Cloudpet, which is a stuffie that you can send messages to with your phone or tablet. I highly recommend this last one for anyone who loves stuffies. I'd love to hear what everyone else does, and hopefully some new ideas can be shared
Guest DaddysLolita
I have several tangible mementos... If we're just talking about items that keep you closer...I have a bottle of a very important cologne I got Daddy (I bought a bottle for me too >_< ), multiple stickers that have been made for me that are in some way linked to us or specifically pertains to something important, Daddy sent me a t-shirt of his I cuddle up with it especially when I'm feeling lonely, 2 very important stuffies (a turtle and my favorite unicorn!), and other small trinkets that match something he has or has special meaning/value. Now if we're talking about ideas on how to stay close long distance....that's another story <
Guest MyDaddyMyWorld
I take daily pics and send them to him. I write a diary every day to email to him. I wear his t-shirt in bed. We text as much as possible with his long work schedule. I sleep on his side of the bed. I look at his pictures and texts. I really want to set up a shared app but it's hard getting it organised cos he's always either working or sleeping, then when we're together it gets forgotten. Must try again.
LolitasDaddy
I like the idea of shared journal entries. I always love hearing about my honey's thoughts. A shared app for what, pics and writing?
Guest MyDaddyMyWorld
Mainly chores. I think if he sent me daily chores or tasks, it would help. He's just really stressed with work right now, don't want to feel I'm adding more to his already hectic schedule.
Guest MyDaddyMyWorld
Oh another thing is my Tumblr blog. Just like to get all my thoughts down on there, with pics and quotes I like, mainly as an outlet. He's seen it occasionally, but it's more for me. It is a website that the caregiver can put down tasks and chores for the little to do. There is a point system and you get cute little monsters as you get tickets from completing tasks. You also save up points to cash in for rewards that the caregiver can set up. You each have a login. It works great for mismatched schedules because you can just each log as you have time to. You log the chores/tasks and they will clear them. Helps if they have at least a moment each day to clear them, or it can mess it up. Hope this helps! Need to find a time when he can concentrate lol, and look at things together, see which we both like. "Couple" looked pretty good, a bit more "grown up" which I think would suit us better. Your sig pic drives me crazy by the way, haha. Noticed it a few times, and my brain is like "make the kitty stop!!" Lol.

I saw "Couple" on the google play store last night, someone else had mentioned it in another thread. It sounds like a great app, I'll have to ask Daddy to see if it's on the iPhone too...I like to read the reviews though and people have been complaining about it. However, the reviews aren't good for my cloudpet either and once we figured out a few hiccups with some research it works perfectly, so I guess take them with a grain of salt. <
Guest DaddysLolita
File sharing apps like Onedrive and Dropbox work well because you can upload anything to them, videos and pictures. It's nice if you can't Skype or whatever all the time and just want to have something to be able to look back on...a video full of nice words, pictures of handwritten notes, you can be creative. Oh, and you only need one account so it's easy to share the username and password and both have access to them. <

Yeah it works for us because it doesn't require an app. Unfortunately not EVERYone has a smartphone. I wish these companies would realize this and allow for computer use as well *sigh*
Guest DaddysLolita
So I checked out "Couple". It seems nice enough. You can chat on it, send pictures back and forth, send stickers (some are free like the smileys, endless love pack and Snoo) input a calendar, add important dates, make lists, draw pictures, send voice messages, it also has a GPS tracker so you can share your locations. I've yet to check out the voice feature, so I don't know how that works. "Moments" stores all of your photos that have been drawn or shared in the app. You can export photos to facebook or twitter (if you're into that sort of thing) or just save them to your gallery on your device. (+)- It's very easy to upload and send pictures, I like the shared calendar feature and the drawing feature. The calendar could be useful - especially long distance, I'm sure it could be useful for setting tasks (thinking outside of things you'd normally put on a calendar...like putting on the calendar to color Daddy a picture...) (-) - The store only sells sticker packs, not a lot of features that aren't commonly seen in basic messenger apps besides the shared calendar (though sending pictures and likely voice works better in "Couples" than say, Yahoo) The calendar function doesn't allow daily, weekly, monthly repetition - only never or yearly. It also doesn't allow you to choose a duration with an end date, only a start date and time. The shared calendar function alone sells me on this app. <
Guest MyDaddyMyWorld
Just need to catch daddy at a time he's able to concentrate. His schedule is really crazy right now. Our time together is basically just snuggling, eating and watching tv/movies. Probably not realistic til the xmas break.
