Favorite books/stories for storytime?

Just as the title says!

Daddybear and I tend to favor public-domain children's stories; we've done most of Aesop's fables and Grimms' fairytales, and some others that are escaping me.

Sometimes if there's a less little-oriented book we both want to read, we'll try to fit it in there.

We also just started the original Winne-the-Pooh, except we've had to change that to be a non-bedtime story because it is so absolutely whacky in a way I did not remember, and we cannot stop laughing.

What are your favorites?

I usually read Clifford or other childhood favourites, but my Daddy gave me a fairytale book for my birthday, I can’t remember where he got it but it actually has pressed flowers in it and it’s awesome! The book is from the 60’s and my favourite book in it is The Colony of Cats. The book is a readers digest called the worlds best fairytales and it’s really good. I also like the book Jenny and the Cat Club from the 70’s!

The children's book of virtues is a good one, I like the poems. I like children's poetry books, I just started the Winnie-the-Pooh collection myself. I love love love the wind in the willows...especially done with all the different voices!

I like any sort of picture book! Clyde The Hippo is one of my favorite series. He is so cute and round that he puts me right into little space. I also like reading picture books about characters I like, like Anna and Elsa, Princess Sofia, Miffy, and Bluey. I have one really big story book about a home for lost monsters that my Daddy got me on our honeymoon. I will always especially treasure it because of the memory of where it came from 🥰

Oh!! Librivox has public domain audio book recordings! Some of my favourites are the Frank L. Baum Oz stories!

One of my other favourite books is A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett!
