Chore Charts

I want to make or purchase a chore chart. Goal is to help curb some of my procrastination and for motivation during depression lows. I'd like it to be reusable and customizable. I've been looking on Amazon and Etsy. I like pink, unicorns, kitties, yorkies... and the idea of having a list of chores and marking them off during the week. For example... Do Homework/Study for 1 hour then marking it off on the days I've met that goal for that week.

Any suggestions for purchasable chore calendars? Which are your favorites?

Also, I've been trying to make a list of chores... problem is I'm an overachiever. LOL So I've got like 40+ items I think would be cool to keep on track. 🤪 Stuff like making sure I eat 3 meals a day, meal prep for work days, take my meds and vitamins, a list of chores... They add up to a lot.

Any ideas for keeping track of them, but maybe combining some and have them still make sense and require I do them all. Gah, that sounds like a tall order. *sigh*

I was cruising Etsy earlier for chore magnets. I couldn't find one set that appealed to me for everything. LOL I'll probably have a mix of styles and cuteness for my chore magnets. 🤭

Any suggestions for places/stores to check for cute magnets?

Thanks for the help! ((Hugs))

Hi. 🍄

You should make categories for your chores if they are a lot, for example:

- Physical health -
Eat 3 times.
Drink water.
Exercise.

- School / Job -
Study 1 hour per day.

You can use Chat GPT to create a short and simple list of chores (and avoid to do too much in a short time and giving up quickly). Good luck! 🍀

Besides, you can create a list of "5 chores per day" to complete without excuses (for example, breakfast, washing teeths)... and then having another list with a lot of secondary chores (for example, study to get an A+ in an exam, to clean your room...). 🐻💕

i've been trying to look for something similar so i have a few saved! i like more masculine things but pink, unicorns, and kitties are also very popular so they're usually available options too!

these are magnetic! they come with chore options but they're pretty kid-specific... it'd be pretty easy to write in your own and make your own system, though! ... at least, that was my plan with 'em :3

These are two packs!

These next ones come in two different deals... A single pack and a bundle of two:

This is the single pack

this is the bundle

this one came up when i was nabbing the others... pretty standard options buuuut
This one had a yorkie... tried to link that one specifically :3

-----------------

i don't know how much help this will be... but i find that sometimes grouping things in certain ways or consolidating them helps make them less overwhelming...
the hardest part is to list... everything you may want to put on a chore list and group them... it doesn't have to be a certain way... just a way that makes sense to you. from there, i usually go down the list of importance -- needs and wants, balancing what i need to do and what i want to do so i'm not just doing chores all day because even doing something small for yourself is important!!!

i'm planning to use them for a similar reason... so just in case it'd help you or someone else reading this:
kindness is key! if you don't get everything done, seeing it on a chart like this may be discouraging... i realized this and decided that color-coding it a bit may be best... not so much just leaving it blank when i didn't get something done... but using a color (a star or something) for "you did your best" or something like that

My favorite thing is "chore sticks."

I have an issue with needing novelty. My Daddy makes me have a routine but it's REALLY hard to do on my own.
My way around it is chore sticks! You decorate popsicle sticks, write the chore on it, and then stick them all in a cup.
Then, when you know you need to get up and do something responsible, you go over and pull out a random stick!
You do whatever it says - and then if you want you can also have reward sticks in a different cup.
So when you finish your chore, you can also get a surprise reward!

The reward sticks are also good to have because if there's things you need to do that are not part of your usual things, you can still get positive reinforcement.
You can make your own, but also I found some premade ones on Amazon. 🤗
