The football season is upon us here in Britain, and while it's not everyone's cup of tea, it is recognised as a national sport and the birthplace of the modern game.

So .... lets hear about the team you support and why. Which competitions are your team in?

I'll start the ball rolling.

I support Newcastle Utd. I've been a supporter since I was a kid as my dad was a Geordie (name for those from Newcastle area for those that don't know).

Our biggest rivals are Sunderland (only other local team) and it's been a while since they were in the EPL. Looking forward to thrashing them this year.

We are also defending our title for the EFL Trophy, also known as the Caraboa Cup (Sponsor's name) which we won last year as underdogs, beating Liverpool in the final at Wembley. We are also back in the Champions League.

Thoughts on Isak? You happy for him or annoyed? Lol

Given the way he conducted himself, I'm glad he is gone. No loyalty or gratitude to the club who made him. We got 2 world class strikers for the price of him with Wissa and Woltemade. Our season will be better than just having Isak and it will help with PSR because we didn't spend much.

I don't think Ekitike will like it though, because he now has to play second fiddle to Isak at liverpool.

Which team do you aupport @Ancientad1992?

I'm an Arsenal supporter, happy with our business in the summer. Now gotta put it into results.

Either Ekitike or Gakpo will get the short straw which is a good problem to have for Liverpool.

Let's see how the season pans out, international breaks are the worst 😂

I think while Gyokeres is a useful addition to your starting line-up, he is still unproven in premier league and that's a risk. I would have thought Arsenal would have gone for a bigger name, even someone like Bryan Mbeumo, proven in the PL.

Hopefully it'll be a better season for you than last actually having a striker.

As for the Ekitike/Gakpo problem, I don't think either of those players is going to want to be warming a bench for long.

Ok here goes. I know I'm an American, but I've been a Manchester United supporter for 20 years now.. Back when  we could only get top table squads here and had to pay for extra channels. It's not nearly as fun as it used to be, but love hopes all things, right? I've never been to the Theatre to see them play, but I did see a preseason match once.

All the other stuff you know. Main rivalry is Liverpool, so obviously not fun times of late

*queue the booing* 😛

The vast majority of football fans I speak to are just loving the fact that Man Utd are a spent force, without European football and languishing near the bottom of the table and losing plenty of games. Most of their fans are glory hunters (people that started supported them because they bought their success with debt) and their "home" fans are known to be "tourists" because none of them are from Manchester.

I think we need to find you a new team 🤣

@NR_DaddyI'm 20 years in. I think I just have to suffer.

It's never too late to repent 😝

I have faith that one day you will see the light 🤣

@NR_Daddy I was raised not to be a fairweather supporter. I just feel lucky to have discovered European football to begin with.

Plus, I look good in the red.

There is hope for us all .... honestly 🤣

I'll take your word on the shirt. Must be a first for it 😅

Hmmm ... Liverpool wear red too 🤔

I usually just cuddle up with snacks and let hiI’ve been using la grada to keep up with matches and chat during games—it’s been fun seeing different takes in real time. I usually watch alone, so having reactions and banter from others kinda makes it feel like I’m not just yelling at the screen by myself anymore.m enjoy the game while I color or play with my stuffies nearby. Makes us both happy without feeling left out.

I’m Liverpool obsessed since the mid 70s. I was at King Kenny’s debut as a 9 year old in August 1977.

You did pretty well tonight considering you were dominated for the first 40 minutes and went a goal down.

Your players were a bit too hands on though and were lucky to not get more yellow cards

Not gonna deny you had moments of brilliance, especially with Ekitike. He's much better than Isak, who needs supply. He is never gonna achieve what he did at Newcastle for you, because your playing style doesn't suit him. It was much the same with Andy Carrol

Well, now I do understand your partial, biased opinion of tonight’s match.

Andy Carroll wasn’t worth £35,never mind £35m whilst at Liverpool.

Andy Carrol was banging them in for fun at Newcastle, but only because he had the supply from the balls getting banged into him in the box by the wingers from wide positions. Liverpool doesn't play like that. They play more through the middle with quick one-twos and always have done

Good point NR

That's the point I'm getting at with Isak. That's what made him great, especially with Murphy slamming ball after ball into him. Isak is gonna be another Andy Carrol. Ekitike is a much better striker because he is more creative. That's why we were after him until you hijacked the deal.

Us losing Isak has pretty much derailed our season. Our new strikers haven't had the chance to train and get Eddie's wisdom on the training field due to the relentless match schedules. It's gonna be next year before we are anywhere near European places again in the league.

Your season has pretty much been the same. Too many incomings/outgoings upsets the apple cart.
