BabyPoppy Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 I gotta question about requirement "2. Color a picture create something that represents St.Patricks day. It cannot be something you've colored or previous made for another club." So most years, and I plan to do so this year, I create a trap for the Leprechaun... he's tricky and usually makes a mess, leaving behind a disaster and taking my candy (only chocolatefor the Leprechaun)... sometimes he leaves me gold coins (plastic ones since I didn't find his treasure he just teases me), but I have to build the trap the night before, like the book "How to Catch a Leprechaun" says.... otherwise it will never work.... plus he's got me on his list of mischievous little girls now and who knows what he'll do if I don't set up a trap and leave him candy! Can the trap be my project for the activity for this requirement? Even though I set it up before bedtime the night before? Thanks for considering my request. Poppy💕 1
Juju Posted March 8 Author Report Posted March 8 Yes, that will be fine. The basic idea is for the activities for the day badges to be done on that day, and since you will be building it for the actual activity itself on St. Patrick's Day, I don't see why not. 1
BabyPoppy Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 There's a badge for a leprechaun trap! 😱 May I do that one on my own? Or have people join me? The steps would be: 1. Research Leprechaun's and write a paragraph. 2. Research traps to catch a Leprechaun and draw/sketch a trap. 3. Make the trap the appropriate night. 4. Record what happens in the morning. 5. Write or draw a picture of changes for next year! Not sure if this was the right place to ask this, but I was so super excited I just couldn't think straight til I got the words out!!!!

That's very cool! And yes, what bean bean said. If you want to do it on your own that's fine and if there are others who want to join in, that's okay too! I would say if you decide to do it on your own, or with others, maybe set a time limit for yourselves. Have fun! 1

Daddy Bear 77 Posted Wednesday at 03:36 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 03:36 AM I have verified that Baby Poppy has drawn a beautiful st. Patrick's Day picture, explained the meaning of the Irish flag to me, has submitted a photo of herself wearing something green and very festive for the holiday and best of all has written a very touching story about why St. Patrick's Day is so meaningful to her. I would suggest everyone go read it. It's very nice. Congratulations @BabyPoppy I certify that you have met all the requirements for the St. Patrick's Day Badge and should receive it posthaste. 1

Yes, that will be fine. Just let @MissAnnaor myself know when you are ready. If you can't get Miss Anna, DM and I can look at your pictures there, if you like.
Aikko Posted Wednesday at 01:21 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 01:21 PM I didn’t get to finish my badge, work got crazy yesterday, but here’s two of the four activities! Does that count for a half badge? 😂 3 1
Juju Posted Wednesday at 11:51 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 11:51 PM @Aikko That's good! At least you tried. No worries. Next month there will be a few different day badges, so no worries.
Juju Posted Wednesday at 11:56 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 11:56 PM Has anyone else finished and have been signed off for this badge? I want to put you at the top with the others if you have, let me know.
BabyPoppy Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM @Juju may I post the pictures I did for this? 1
Juju Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Yes! By all means! Anything you do for the GWG's you can share, even if it's not specifically for a badge. 1
BabyPoppy Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Here's the stuff I did for my badge... Hello Kitty is my favoritest! The Irish Flag... the research was very interesting! This is the fun outfit! I love this dress! I even got called a "lucky charm" yesterday ❤️ I had PT yesterday, so I wore my Lucky T-shirt... no dresses at PT! 🤭 This picture I colored last week, but he's so cute! This is my leprechaun trap! I researched Leprechaun's and learned: They used to wear red, not green. They are about 2 - 3 feet tall. They are very mischievous and tricky. They are social fae, but more solitary. They work as shoemakers in the fae realms and it is their job to protect all the wealth. They are very tricky and even if you catch one, he'll probably trick you. If you catch a Leprechaun, you can choose between 3 wishes or a pot of gold, but be careful... they are known to twist wishes! I added chocolate and built my trap on the couch so it would be more appealing... Oh! And it was a Stitchfix box...so it smelled like new clothes and I put shiny stickers all over the box! but sadly, my plan was foiled! That tricky Leprechaun took my chocolate bar, flipped the box and left my fake, plastic, gold coins! At least he didn't steal the cozy blanket or leave a nasty note this year! Here's the link to the book I used for my trap research too! I really loved all the research! Thanks for the fun! 1 3
