Colors! Shapes! They make our world fun and exciting!  This week we are going to learn about our colors and shapes!

In the Northern hemisphere this week we officially start Autumn.

September 22 — Mabon / Autumn Equinox

Pagan/Wiccan & Seasonal

Learn About It

The autumn equinox marks the beginning of astronomical fall in the Northern Hemisphere.

Some modern Pagans and Wiccans celebrate the autumn equinox as part of their seasonal cycle of celebrations, often called the Wheel of the Year. The name Mabon is commonly used by some modern Pagan traditions for this celebration.

It's associated with autumn, harvest, gratitude and preparing for the darker part of the year.

For everyone else, the equinox can simply be an opportunity to learn about seasons and nature.

Did You Know?

Equinox comes from Latin words associated with equal night.

Around the equinox, daytime and nighttime are roughly similar in length.

Harvest foods such as apples, grains and squash are often associated with autumn celebrations.

The activities are fun this week and reflect both the weekly theme and the holiday!
