Little things to do in Dallas/Fort Worth?

My Daddy and I are visiting the DFW area for 3 weeks (end of June through middle of July.) What would you recommend we do and see? Any little friendly activities you love in the area? Any great restaurants you would recommend we try?

The Dallas Arboretum is beautiful. In downtown there is a huge "aquarium" ... I can find the address for you.Then in Dallas there's the zoo.

 

If you have the money... having dinner at reunion tower... It's pricey but quite an experience. Elegant I suppose. Reunion tower is a big ball of light that's a restaurant and it's a tower... If you can manage the money, try it.

 

Razoo's is god cajun food

 

Hmm... I'll talk to my Daddy and get back to you with more but oh! If you like roller coasters and water parks SIX FLAGS!

 

Dallas science museum I think at Fair Park. There's also an awesome aquarium in Fair Park.

 

Fort Worth zoo is like 300 times better than Dallas... 

 

OH... In Wylie (a suburb of a suburb of Dallas) has a big cat sanctuary... Big I mean wild. It stinks but it is so cool. It's so so so cool. I can find that address, too.

 

Deep Ellum. Mostly during the night or evening... Deep Ellum can be pretty cool. A lot of piercing/tattoo places but good food (pricey) House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe and oh!!!! Dick's Last Resort. It's a restaurant. The theme is basically like ... I mean it's funny - acting rude, etc. You get these huge paper hats that have smart ass sayings. I had one that said "I can suck start a Harley"...

 

It's so much fun. And West End is pretty cool. There's the gayborhood. Cedar Springs and Oak Lawn... there's so much cool stuff there even if you're not "gay or bisexual" ... It's so much fun over there.

I second Mermaid's suggestion of the Dallas World Aquarium. It is my FAVORITE thing to do in Dallas. Another thing I loved to do as a kid is go to the Fort Worth Museum Of Science And History. It's been years since I've been there, but I have fond memories. My favorite part was the dinosaur exhibit!

 

I'd also suggest seeing if there's any concerts going on you'd like to visit. I saw The Gazette in The Bomb Factory. Dallas is a good place for concerts.

 

I've seen LegoLand advertised over the years. I've never gone. If you decide to visit there, tell me how it was!

 

 

Edit: Also look out for gaming tournaments. Last week or so my boyfriend and his friends participated in a Super Mash Bros 2 competition.

Also there's this trampoline fun place... where you just go and jump on their trampolines I guess. I forgot what it's called.. tomorrow I'll research but yes, ditto with above poster. Those places are so cooooool. Concerts yes... you could just go down to Deep Ellum and find a band performing almost in any pub bar type place. Trees is a great venue.

 

There are a lot of parks around D/FW... you can look up Dallas parks an recreation online and see if there's anything of interest you find.
