New and Confused??

Hello!

So, I'm new to the community, and I'm trying to understand more about it?

I still live at home with my family, and I've never been able to talk to others about my interest in the caregiver/little community, and I just found this forum and worked up the courage to come on and ask!

I feel like I'd be really interested in being a part of this, but I feel like there's so many things I have to follow and learn about it still?

Like, some people say it has to be sexual, which is icky to me, I've never talked with anyone about it, I don't know if it's right for me. I mean, I'd love to be a part of it, but I feel like people with think I'm gross or a freak and it kind of scares me...

Can anybody help me understand more about the community and maybe more about helping myself with this?

Thank you!

Welcome to the community. It can seem a bit overwhelming at first, not sure where to look or even what you're looking for exactly. I think the first advice anyone here will give you is to look through the forum pages and just keep reading for a while. A lot of questions you might have are probably already asked in the forums. Feel free to ask more questions if you have any that you havent found. Theres also a chatroom on the site where people are pretty active in if youd rather talk to someone online at the moment.

Just so you know though, the ddlg community is not only sexual. There are people who live the lifestyle as nonsexual. It all comes down to what your needs and wants are. In order to have a ddlg relationship, it requires building trust and communication with someone as an adult before any agreements are made. It definitely takes some time and doesnt happen over night. I hope this helps in any way. Good luck.

It definitely doesn't HAVE to be sexual.... but most relationships do eventually encompass sex as a part of them. Do things at your own pace though, don't let anyone make you uncomfortable with the pace at which things progress.

THis may seem pedantic, but I have written so many pieces on those just entering this community, a BDSM community and/or needing help with the fundamentals. I am just gonna link my pieces below:

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/34614-intro-to-the-dynamic-megathread-adapted/ (SFW) - the absolute basics that you need to consider in regards to who you are and what you want/can handle.

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/12827-instant-gratification/ (SFW) - explains why, especially in this community, time is a necessity and you need to be sure you take consideration in who you partner up with.

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/12930-why-we-need-to-be-single/ (SFW) - jumping right into a relationship will not help you figure out who you are in this community or what you may like. It does increase the risk of being hurt or manipulated as you are new.

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/12897-ddlg-the-serious-end-of-things/ (SFW) - this piece kinda breaks up the dynamic in a more understandable way. Do you like this as a kink and only in the bedroom, or do you want to live this every day, day in and day out and never break from it? This piece helps clear that up a bit.

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/35210-psa-power-exchange-does-not-mean-powerless/ (SFW) - this is something every CG and Little needs to remember. It doesn't matter if you are a little, a sub, a pet, a brat, a whatever, if you are in a relationship where your partner assumes some sort of authority over you (even if it is just enforcing bedtime), you will ALWAYS have the right to say NO whenever you need and WANT to.

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/28037-communication-is-vital/ (SFW) - this is my most important piece. It explains how communication is literally the foundation of this dynamic and any relationship.

https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/23301-fake-it-needs-to-stop/ (SFW) - this is my second most important piece. It goes into detail explaining how the term 'fake' is a plague in our community, when in reality what you are seeing (and those expectations people have of you) are incompatibility.

THose are a few from my collection, but I have been told they are a great help to those just starting out. I wish you the very best and myself and a lot of people are always around if you ever have questions. Good luck and welcome to the community!

Thank you for sharing these to me! I'm trying to find as much info as I can to figure things out for myself before trying to find someone for a CGl relationship, and I appreciate you helping me with that! <3

Welcome to probably the most loving and accepting community out there, anyone who tells you how you should be as a little is plain wrong and likelym a bad person, if you arent sexual in littlespace you are not sexual. end of

the beauty is the online space is anonymous if you want to be quiet and keep it to yourself you can bsalutely do that while still feeling like a part of something, if you want to tell people make sure they are the sort that will support you and accept you and are known to have an open mind, and we are all here on this journey with you so make friends and have fun with us

You are most welcome, I am glad to be of help. I have a few others if you ever have a question. I am basically always here and am that obnoxious person that writes on all the controversial and blunt issues that people never put into words. So, I am at your disposal XD
